Wasps v Irish
« on: February 27, 2018, 07:53:13 AM »
The gardeners are going to be busy at the grounds this week. Wonder if the Ricoh has under soil heating, looks set to be snowing on and off all week. Not sure I have seen soup for sale, might take a flask!

Game wise I am very much in the best team available camp, two week break afterwards. There have been some funny results recently. Worcester beat Exeter then Irish beat Worcester. Definitely not an easy run in with Leicester and Irish finding form, Sale away, Newcastle away.

Agreed, best team available and prepare as much as possible through this week to give ourselves every chance of a 5 point haul going into a fortnight break.

Injuries not looking good, CovTel reporting that Hask, Daly and Hughes not released. JdJ, Ash, Young Young, Cipps, Jack, Mullen and Myall all carrying injuries that could rule them out. We are going to be fielding the AW cup team at this rate...

Push comes to shove, most of our under-18s are fit and probably available. Through 6N, suspensions and injuries, 20 of our first team squad (is it 38/39/40 players?) MIGHT be out. If we are lucky, Cips and Willis will be OK, leaving us needing at least 3, maybe 5 players from our injury hit A Team squad. I think we can say that the barrel bottom will be well and truly scraped.

Lets hope we remember to turn it on...

I'm a little concerned about this one.  We really need to get every possible point we can to maximise our chances in the playoffs - assuming we get there.  Anyone have any news on the injury front?  And if Cips is out is Umaga fit?  He stepped up pretty well.

If Dai is totally upfront with his numbers 20 injured takes us well into Academy territory. I hope he is holding some hidden cards behind his back.

That's all if the game goes ahead. The weather here is closing in and the forecast has changed to not very good.

Saturday was supposed to warm up a bit, is that now not looking likely?

There could be academy boys missing too.

Think you've missed Willis off that lift.

On the plus side it looks like they will be without Blair Cowan.

It seems strange when players swap like that, must be some financial incentive all round.

Weather wise, if the Irish game is cancelled then I assume Gabby's ban gets extended since there is another non-playing week to account for? In that case we would not have him available for Worcester. Hope Macken holds out and JdeJ can recover quickly.
