The Gaby one sound quite bad. Also alarmed that Alfie’s hamstring is still not right. I suppose it’s a catch 22. You play him to see if it’s ok and only then find out it isn’t. Bare bones stuff for Toulouse. I’m afraid it’s going to be a Sarries type team with Irish on B Day in mind. It’s the only thing they can do.

That assumes the highly unlikely scenario that no more players test positive for Covid. True, they passed PCR tests taken on Saturday, but, the squad and staff will likely be taking daily tests this week.

There must now be positions where we have no players, or maybe only one, where two or three are needed. The crunch, I think, will be in the centres and hooker, and maybe wing and scrum half. There must come a point, and it cannot be far away now, where we throw in the towel. Or field a side for each game but tell them not to actually play (I remember our team doing that once as the referee was so bad and biased that we were getting thumped off the pitch). So we simply stood still on the pitch and let them score at will. They soon got fed up. Hopefully we wouldn't pick up any more injuries.

Reading between the lines, I get the feeling that Lee won't be unhappy if, somehow, we cannot get enough available players to play the tie.

Make that 3 - I said yesterday on some thread we should just offer them the 28 points and batten down the hatches for a couple weeks. We will come back from Toulouse with more injuries.
Let me tell you something cucumber

Mrs FW and I were saying the same on the drive home from the match. Even if we can field a bare bones team, probably best to forfeit, like Scarlets did, with players safety as the reason.. Or are there other (eg financial) penalties for forfeiting a game.
There again, can we register 22 players and get a few days practise with them? Consistency from EPCR would be good (no slight at Munster intended)
If we do play, at least it won't be French officials!

So +2.

However would feel for any Waspie who has plans to be in Toulouse and has forked out for flights, hotels, tickets etc

Presumably someone who comes back into the reckoning is McHenry.

Can someone remind me, how many 'fit to play' hookers have we now got? I mean, with Gaby and Alfie injured.

Dan Frost, Van Vuren and then Eckersley. Still waiting for clearance for Cruise.

Ah, that's plenty then. Unless Lee sensibly doesn't have Cruse (no 'i') back as fit, and two of those three either get positive Covid PCR tests or injured in training. How are we now at LH and TH? Can't help thinking we are going to get more than thumped at Toulouse, with yet more injuries when you look at the potential mismatch in players. This is not going to end well.
