Just picked this up ; Indication is that the game can go ahead

https://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/en/coming-to-france/coming-to-france-your-covid-19-questions-answered/article/list-of-pressing-grounds-for-travel-to-from-orange-countries

The crucial extract from it :

High-level professional sportspeople to take part in events approved by the Ministry of Sport. Evidence required: professional ID, certificate issued by event organizer in liaison with the Ministry of Sport.

Amber list country citizens who arrive under the exceptional rules must still:

Self-isolate upon arrival in France in the place of their choosing. This self-isolation, following the receipt of a prefectoral order generated on the digital platform éOS-COVID, could be lifted 48 hours after arrival in France if a negative result of a PCR or antigen test is provided. Checks will be conducted to ensure that these measures are properly implemented.

The wasps team charter flight is/was due to fly Saturday returning Sunday.

As an aside, if match is cancelled due to travel restrictions, (or postponed ) with agreement or European rugby , how would that affect teams who have already forfeited due to covid (Saracens)?

Yep, weren't national travel restrictions for Omicron part of the issue for Munster.

So if the players leave today, they can play - but there won't be a captain's run or any training, and the team will effectively have to go from the hotel to the sheds to the pitch.

Honestly, what is the point of trying to play under those conditions?

Could be that the requirements for elite sportsmen may be a bit different?

EPCR board meeting started at 10.30 to make a decision. Bernard Jackman (RTE & Irish Sunday Independent) has tweeted to advise that the French clubs have decided not to travel.

Reading that it looks like a nightmare for clubs.

Looks like the fixtures in place for 2022 will go ahead, but still no decision on those postponed in December:

Quote
“In addition, discussions are ongoing regarding the five Heineken Champions Cup and two Challenge Cup round two fixtures which were postponed due to unforeseen circumstances arising from changes to border controls between France and the UK. No further comment will be made at this time.”

Also nothing specific about un-vaccinated players being allowed or not to travel....
