Looking ahead to the Chiefs
« on: February 01, 2022, 05:54:31 PM »
Given our performances in 3 of our last 4 matches, does anyone else think we have chance of turning the Chiefs over at Sandy Park on Saturday. I have a good feeling about this match. The squad are really showing their mettle now.

Chiefs have 5 in the England squad 3 in the Scotland squad.

If you look at the "Nobheads" site they are listing a bonkers injury list - looks like they have taken over from us (for a short while). We might have a chance.
Let me tell you something cucumber

With the names that they are missing and hopefully no additions to ours this does look like one of our best chances to get a win there.

Sandy park is a difficult place to go at any time. However this is a opportunity to get a win. Nomatter what side they put out even with injuries and international call ups, under Baxter they have a team that play off the same hymn sheet, and that makes the game much harder.
If we go there without the strongest team possible, and play anywhere under 100% they will turn us over.

Other than beware the wounded animal, I think we have a reasonable chance.

They're obviously going through some disruption to get down to the new salary cap, have players on international duty and a long injury list. But Baxter is no mug, he didn't get them to where they've been without an astute rugby brain and we can be sure they'll have a good plan to beat us.

Confidence is building in our camp and the players really do look like they are playing for each other and the return of key players from long injury is another moral booster.

I'm looking forward to the game with hope rather than trepidation and I don't think its unreasonable to be looking for more than an a scrappy LBP.

We are getting Alfie back.

I do hope that's a statement and not a question.

I’m expecting a win at Exeter, it obviously will not be easy but Exeter are down to the bare bones and we are getting players back.

Launchbury will be fitter, Fekitoa should start and if we get Alfie back then I expect a win

Alfie has been cut from the England squad, so a chance he will play this weekend

that's all good. I think Alfie - start or bench - provides a spark and might be able to take a little weight off Brad.....If Fekitoa can start and Launch is good for 60mins say - if we can get ahead - we have every chance.

Still a hard place to go and as we've shown recently......it doesn't matter who you are!

Think Alfie on the bench to have fun for 25-30 minutes will be fun.

Anyone know what's wrong with Tom Willis? He'd be nice to have back!

Wasps are 66/1 to win the Premiership.

Think about that. There may be excellent opportunities for cashing out if we move up the table, even if we don't make it all the way.

No. I think the results have been better than the performances.
At the weekend, Alex Goode was Wasps MVP...a bounce here or there against a much weakened Sarries side and we'd have lost, plus we were at home. When we start to consistently beat strong opposition then we'll be ready to go to Sandy and win but not sure we are there yet.

If Alfie is back and Tom Willis is fit - and we have no injuries from Sunday- we don’t have anything to fear. Bring it on.
