Good read but No 4 on the list was rather trite- pretty much every selection in every pro sport ever is surely made by those working day in and day out with players and obviously are made not in isolation but with the best interests of the team for the match (or matches, my addition, as sometimes a match is part of a sequence where one might be of lesser import).
Coaching teams working with players are always best qualified.
This does not stop them making enormous mistakes and getting the sack, especially in soccer, it should not make them immune from criticism by those less qualified or informed. By the same logic everyone who is not Eddie Jones should shut up, and I am sorry I can't accept that.
