Academy game

I know many of you like to keep in touch with academy news / games and as we know not always easy to find but this looks like first game this year on Saturday at Aylesbury for anyone in the area.

Thanks chunky. It’s been good to see so many of the young lads in training with the big guns in preseason.

I hope we put out a team sheet just so we can potentially work out our u18 graduate list this year as well as who’s still attached to the academy.

I doubt very much that it is. The Ducks have a nice set up at Weston Turville.

Also a couple of Wasps on the England u18 bench Friday against South Africa, another Wasps link with Jonathan Pendlebury the head coach.

I might take a bimble down there on my bike.

Seems like academy teams not being made public isn't just a Wasps thing.

Good to see it somewhere, not on twitter or teletext yet!

It definitely is not ticketed. Free parking as well.

26 v 26 Final result

A fair result. A very good game to watch, on the 3G pitch.

Some stars in the making in both teams. For Wasps, and this would be difficult to single any player out, but ones to watch:

12. Charlie Myall. The 12 Wasps haven't had, but wanted these last few years.
13. Ryan Sweeting (reminds me of a young Malakai Fekitoa, the AB version, not the ageing one we got).
14. Sam Sinclair (reminds me of Odogwu, but faster).

Wasps started well, at one point 19-0. But started giving penalties away, a lot. Many break through runs, but unsupported saw them turned over time after time. Well in to double figures. Lineout performed well, but the scrum lacked power, and Yorkshire punished Wasps for it.

One more round to play at Newcastle next week, then a long winter break.

I did thanks. Still recovering from a broken foot, but the bike ride was fun. They have a great place at Aylesbury. A proper rugby club. Very welcoming.
