Very simple guys.
Don’t get all catastrophic about it.
It’s not the end of the world.

On a good day, with passes going to hand, we could have won this by 20-30 points.
We’re a young side with new combinations.
There’s some real promise out there.

It’s not the end of the world.
It’s just a bad, bad game that had good intentions.

It’s purely a confidence thing.
Considering the limitations we have financially, we have a good squad.
And a squad, that when it eventually hits its straps, will be competition for any side.

Please stay patient.
Be empathetic.
These guys are human. It’s not like they aren’t giving 110%.
They just aren’t clicking. Yet.

It will come. Have faith.

Frustrating as it was I tend to agree with OP, a lot of those handling errors were at the end of some very good moves. The forwards looked good at times with a lot of good off loads. Ditto the backs.

But most of all, can we bring the experiment f playing Alfie at 8 ahead of Tom.

Hopwood. You and the boards other resident apologists have been saying the same thing for 2 seasons now..
Noting unexpected here, a standard Wasps rugby match. Substandard, no guile, no rugby IQ, no anything
Two things I'm really glad of, Bristol having so much unavailable talent and the training dedicate to our core skills over the close season.

First half was a perfect example of why Lee said one of the 3 things he wanted at the start of the season was a set piece that created penalties, it keeps you in the game when you arent playing well.
Despite what people may wish for you can't play "the wasps way" without it, it leads to errors, knock ons and forced passes like we saw today when Charlie tried his best to make it happen.

Don’t think we can spin this one at all, and I’m using an optimist.

That just wasn’t good enough.
I wouldn’t wish an injury on him at all but I felt that would be the only way Alfie was going off the pitch today. Trying far too hard and doesn’t thrive under the responsibility like Tom does at 8. Huge difference when Tom went to 8 after being quiet before.

Odendaal again looking good in terms of carrying and distributing, not sure why he went off. Crossdale good as well.
Our inexperienced coaching team might be getting a little found out here now.

Penalties in favour of the opposition!

A lot of the time your posts make sense but you just can't resist the personal digs and sneers at other posters. Every time. You really ought to pull your neck in. No wonder nobody likes you.

Last season it was injuries causing to many new combinations. This season it’s new combinations again. How long do we keep trotting out the same excuses. For the last two years I’ve heard nothing on here except “when the passes stick and we hit our straps we’ll be a match for anyone”.  Every club has a turn over of player’s but still seem to manage. Make no mistake today we’ve been well beaten by a poor Bristol side and on today’s evidence we’ll hovering around the bottom 4 this season.

Exactly the opposition showed it as a perfect example.

We could have won it without the set piece today.
Our scrum wasn’t particularly bad at all today. Bristol defended our maul well but we could never really pursue that further as we knocked on before we could force penalties through momentum allowing us to kick to the corner again.

Didn’t Lee also mention that he wanted us to be a skilful team?

Hopwood what are you talking about, it’s 2 years of us getting worst. We are a poorly coached team end of, we make stupid team selections, players are just running into a set defence, not even looking for a weak shoulder, not quick ball, no game plan, we are so easy to read as a team.

That was pathetic and Embarrassing, 18 handling errors is kids rugby

Did you watch the first half, every Bristol point came from scrum penalties even when the rest of their play was poor!

What personal dig Ross..please elaborate? I  don't see one...which is ironic because that's exactly what you have done.
Or better still, demote yourself as the social police and offer some rugby insight.
