So D Day or not?
« on: December 12, 2022, 07:59:59 AM »
The day dictated by the RFU/PRL cabal for us to prove we can survive is with us (under 3 to 4 inches of snow).
I suspect we won't be told/learn of the decision unless there is a leak.
Here's hoping for a good result despite it all. COYW

Yes. D-Day. Wouldn’t be surprised to see some sort of RFU sanctioned extension in the mix. Leaks could come from a variety of sources as Wuss have the same deadline.

Anyone else with the depressing feeling that the future of our club entirely rests on what side of bed an RFU pen pusher got out of this morning?!

Interestingly the Championship clubs are meeting the RFU today about re-organisation and funding (as per TRP). Wonder if WW and Wasps were invited. Doubt it as we don't get exist.
Would hope that as they (RFU) are "working" something might come from today.

Not religious but might have to pray today. Fingers, toes, arms, legs all crossed.

I think it is partly about that in respect of the owners tests. The RFU was recently (and correctly) hauled over the coals by DCMS so expect them to be extra vigilant. Also, how they will interpret the phoenix club rule in respect of where new Wasps have proposed to base themselves will decide the league.

And then, whether the prospective owners business plans still stack up without the P share and in whatever league the RFU decide we should be in.

I anticipate an extension and no resolution until well into the new year.

It was confirmed previously that we have prepared a 3-5 year plan assuming no P share.

That was pretty vague. Nothing of any content has come from Wasps unlike the WW commentary.

Update from Matt Kvesic's wife on Twitter:

Quote
.@WorcsWarriors UPDATE: The @RFU have previously given the 12th December as a deadline for both @WaspsRugby and Worcester to complete their takeovers and secure their places in the Rugby Championship next season.
This morning an RFU spokesperson updated the deadline saying: "We were prepared for some flexibility over the 12th December deadline and continue to work collaboratively with the prospective owners as we undertake full due diligence. The Club Financial Viability Group will make a recommendation to the RFU Board and we expect a decision ahead of Christmas.  We will provide an update then."
