Certainly a bit more invention in the backs. Good to see Malins & Marchant back in. Cole was brutally exposed in the scrum three years ago - not sure he is better now. Only one 8 in the squad - disappointed TW didn’t make it. I actually think we look a bit weak in the second row. Plenty of back row options though.

Definitely 2 8s in there in Dombrandt and Simmonds.
Agree about 2nd row, but shift Lawes there alongside Itoje and it suddenly looks a whole lot better.  Whether or not that will happen remains to be seen of course!

I don't think we'll see Lawes in the second row again. Lost too much bulk and is a genuine flanker these days.

Interesting to note that Tigers representation has gone up from 4 in the last Jones squad to 7 in this one. Youngs, JvP & Steward in both.

Weird how Tom was meant to be in the squad according to the "leak" last week.

We’re pretty light at TH these days aren’t we? Heyes was better this week but got mullered the week before for Leicester, Cole used to be exceptional defensively and was another jackaller but not sure he’s good enough around the park now, just hope Sinkler stays fit really, as Will Stuart is probably next in line.
Good to see Daly, Malins, Hassel-Collins, Earl and Mitchell in on form.

just still struggling to get anywhere close to being inspired to watch this with any passion until I can see how we want to play, need to knock a whole lot of Eddie off the set up before I’ll be jumping off the sofa in joy or frustration again watching England.

What's happened with Tom Curry? - Jettisoned, or due to be parachuted back in subject to recovering from his Hamstring injury?

So much so that he was left out of Bordeaux's team at the weekend.

Assumed the latter. There's no "unavailable due to injury" list on the England Rugby site like there used to be under Jones, so it's difficult to say. I think he's due to be fit for the Wales game, so it may well depend on how we go in the first two!

There's a lot of competition, and I think SB was limited in the number of changes he could make, but I'm disappointed not to see Ollie Lawrence in there, Ted Hill too. Both at Bath, which might say something. Thought Fraser Dingwall might get a shot at 12 too, but Kelly looks like the option there.

Was also hoping to see both the Willis boys in, but maybe in time!

Ealing haven't actually confirmed this (yet)
