Dai on Jack Owlett:

A couple of other clubs interested but he chose us. Now just why would a young player do that if we were about to go down the kharzi?

Yes indeed, swings and roundabouts up and downs a rollercoaster ride this week!

I feel positive even if ED goes.

Btw does the other place deliberately go down on days when  it's all kicking off?

It goes down due to lack of "articles".

More club supporters have set up their own network.. Glos have the shedweb.. I think Quins have their own now.. so thank vv for setting this up

+1 I really like this site (nothing wrong with DW). The environment feels better here too.

Its almost a good thing it's gone down given the Stuart confirmation...a couple of days for some of the downers to digest it.

Agree, its much more level headed and less irrational here, thanks to VV for sure.

As disappointed as I am about Stuart, I can only think that Wasps have done what they can to try and keep him and if money\resources at Bath have caught his interest then there is not a lot that can be done.  If we keep Brookes and we've taken on a promising young talent alongside a pretty decent looking Kiwi TH then I don't see us going into next season much lighter than we are now.

In no order

LH
Harris
Zhavania
McIntyre

TH
JTA
Brookes
Owlett

That is going to keep us competitive in the prop department at least.

Posted on the other site:-

What, a team loses a young prospect to a rival team? The wheels must really be falling off at the Chiefs. There must be something wrong with the culture, training ground, food, coaching, strength and conditioning and weather down in Exeter!!!!

*Sarcasm*

Extracted from Chiefs' Official Site:

Jack Owlett:
The front-row forward was identified to the Chiefs through the club's strong links with the University of Exeter

The former Head Boy at the distinguished Millfield School, which has produced many international caps including former England captain Chris Robshaw, Owlett has spent the past few years studying for a degree in Business and Management here in Devon.

A key performer in the University side, including helping Exeter to lift the BUCS title at Twickenham in 2016, his on-field displays brought him to the attentions of the Chiefs, who used appearances in the Aviva A League to take a closer look at his potential.

Clearly the Chiefs management liked what they saw of the former Scotland Under-20s prop, offering him a senior academy contract with the club once his full-time education at the University was completed.

Last season he made three first team appearances for the Chiefs, all of them in the Anglo-Welsh, the first of which came in the 62-25 home win over Cardiff Blues.

Is he tied to Scotland, or able to choose England?

Good.
I don't want to be playing spot the Englishman next season. If he is not tied that is good for us.
