I see Wigan have issued a brief statement:

Wigan Warriors are aware of quotes from Shaun Edwards regarding his future contractual arrangements.

Following the conclusion of the Six Nations and Shaun’s comments, we have been seeking dialogue with Shaun directly since Sunday to clarify to Wigan his intentions.

I think Danny will be off to another country. Edwards or no Edwards, he's been screwed over too many times to have any real desire to stick around in the UK. And I for one don't blame him at all.

Maybe, but moving to another country probably means moving away from his mum. We've just lost some very large paychecks, and can push most our incoming ones into marquee status. Sopoaga to 12?

I don't think it'd happen myself, but I'd not say it's impossible.

I don't think either will happen. Edward's will be attracted by a new opportunity not by revisiting an old task. Danny will not come back to a place where he wasn't wanted. Hope for his own sake he takes a money option. France is not far to visit his mum or vice versa.

What's the betting England don't sign Edwards as they don't have a head coach in place, he signs for us, then England get a head coach who wants Edwards...

Then we should have some sort of financial penalty clause, otherwise it will be Wilson all over again.

I would love to see that happen, I believe Sopoaga would do really well with Cips at 10

I genuinely don't feel good about the idea of trying to get Cips back again.  I also feel fairly pessimistic about Shaun coming.

On the face of his last season with us, I'd love to see him back. However: 1/ I'd expect that to only be for another one season, two maximum. (no long term planning). 2/ If it is true that he wasn't wanted at Wasps, I don't see why he'd want to come back to us.

Shaun, I couldn't possibly comment on that one but it's always good to have a world class coach coming back into the ranks.

Wasps don't expect any coaching announcements for "weeks" according to today's press briefing.

Given the way things are landing at the moment, I have to say I’d be surprised if we got Shaun. Especially without a change at the top. Not that I want that, it just seems to be the vibe.

I’m looking forward to next preseason already!

I have a feeling Edwards is holding out for an England role post RWC. Maybe we will get Worsley?

At least we have known for a while that Shaun has liked the idea of coaching England. Danny's involvement with the Scottish set-up was, to me anyway, quite a last minute change and out of nowhere.

I think you're right but who would be his boss? Eddie has, I think a contract until 2021 and I really cannot see Shaun and him getting on. ;D

This. I could see Shaun's shining head being thrust strongly in an EJ nose direction.
