Wasps Rugby Discussion / Rumours
« on: January 20, 2019, 11:30:53 AM »
None I can see in TRP. MAIL has a bit about Worcester complaining to RFU about our training centre in theircatchment. If we transgress RFU will take our area away- not under CVC you won't!
He whose name must not be mentioned does only have a one year deal with the fake west countryers. Toulon and Clermont circling.
Nice article on Fekitoa in Mail.

According to TRP we want him to replace Willie. Must admit never crossed my radar. He is under contract but we are prepared to wait.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Guardian Article on CVC

Quite interesting especially this part (referring to Wasps?)

The CVC money, we are told, will not be used to stoke wage inflation. That appears to be fanciful. The players affected will be those on the fringe of a squad, earning around £50,000, who will make way for academy players. One head coach lamented recently that a player of his who was on £300,000 was offered a 20% increase which was trumped by a rival who offered to almost double his salary. The lesson of football in the Premier League era is that no matter how much a club’s turnover increases, fans will always be squeezed. There is never enough money.

Strange occurrence. I get to the Mill Bar very quickly after the match for a hot drink before the drive home. So am there very quickly within about 5 minutes. Players were still on the pitch when I exited. Sat down and out pops Daly and girlfriend with wheely case moving very quickly towards the casino exit. Girlfriend with a very red face.  He obviously got out of playing gear at breakneck speed. Exited head down. Players usually come and go from the other end car park.  May be nothing but strange.

Bordeaux beating Racing 40-7 tonight. Not lost a game since taking over temporarily. Interesting counterpoint to TRP French news article where he states he knows he is being sacked at the end of the season as Rory Teagues replacement has been appointed already.

Tweet by Wasps seems to suggest some form of "present" for Wasps fans tomorrow. Strange.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Coach v Director of Rugby
« on: December 09, 2018, 11:46:08 AM »
Interesting comment heard while watching Edinburgh v Newcastle it was said that Dave Walter is Newcastle's Head Coach whilst Dean Richards is DoR.  Not something I was aware of. We certainly do not have the number of coaches to allow that to happen but perhaps we should?

Somebody on SBT posted yesterday that Wasps had bought Brentford. Not posting on the other site as I think it is rubbish but...?

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Saturday fixtures
« on: July 13, 2018, 07:06:53 PM »
When we took over the Ricoh the football team had precedence over fixtures. Now that the agreement has ended and all we gave them was a one year extension has the question of precedence finished - it certainly looks that way and the natives are quite restless.

Nice to see that our tenants want us to pay an extra £27m plus they would like a 50/50 share of the Ricoh. Let's see what Day Two will bring!
