Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Exeter and the Salary Cap.

Assuming Campo was signed for the rest of the season, do his wages have any dispensation, like a medical joker type arrangement?

Though having said that, I assume Wade's salary has become available to cover Campo's?

What exactly made anyone think that a cash amount given to each club would be universally spent wisely?

do wonder if this is learned behaviour from playing in junior rugby, where non-contact is the norm

where did you get that from?
Contact starts at u9s, I think. Its been like that for at least the last 15 years.

Maintenance of artificial pitches are also set to become part of Premiership minimum standards criteria

The above suggests that its not the pitches per se, but the maintenance of them that is under scrutiny?

Interesting also that the head injury prevention seems to be focusing on high tackles, with no mention of dangerous ruck clear outs.

I'd also like to see more referral of head injury incidents to the TMO, with common sense being the order of the day, not just strictly enforcing a ruling. Referees have plenty of options to get to the correct decision but seem to still make so many mistakes, how can World Rugby help them get it right more often?

Let's try and avoid insulting people. We're all different with different opinions after all.

Whilst I completely agree, having a different opinion is not insulting people. I don't think this forum, or any other, should be seen as some snowflake "safe space" where everyone just agrees with each other because they are scared of upsetting other people.

If people can't disagree, its going to be a pretty boring forum!

I assumed Beardy was actually having a laugh and it was faux outrage. Turns out he apparently doesn't have a sense of humour....

Personally I know a lot of Quins fans & whilst some are very good friends I am very happy I am not one of them, just as they are probably extremely happy not to be a wasps fan, especially at the moment!

Does anyone know if similar stats exist anywhere for the league as a whole? I'd love to know who Wasps compares with other clubs.

I don't think we'll get many points from a visit to the Stoop.....the games at Twickenham isn't it?

Bit risky, but I guess that's the sort of gamble Investment firms take.

Whilst I do wish him all the best, I do feel his timing was terrible. If he wanted to leave he should have done so before the end of last season thus giving the fans a chance to say goodbye & thank you & for the club to sort out a replacement.

None of that affects my conviction that he won't make it in the NFL.

So what exactly do CVC get out of this?
Clubs don't make a profit, but does PRL?

If it does and therefore each club takes a cut of that profit, and CVC will now take their share of that profit won't that mean less for the clubs?

Is the future based on CVC somehow "growing the game" and therefore PRL making more profit?

will be interesting how they play without him.

I seem to remember wasps looked a little lost when he damaged his knee last season...

the driving force seems to be that his g/f is best friends with Farrell's g/f

It has been pointed out elsewhere that Elliot's fiance is best mates with Dan Robson's g/f & has just set up a business with Craig Hampson's g/f

Just like "Daly wants to go to Sarries to be near his good mate Jamie George", happily ignoring that he'd be leaving his best mate Dan Robson behind.

So not sure how much you can read into all this talk of mates & g/f's, or even a lack of training facilities. IMO if Daly leaves this would all have been a smoke screen for wanting more money.
