It would be interesting to see the stats around the how many of those players were available per game.  That would give an idea of how weak the teams we have put out have been.

Happy New Year from East Kent.  It is a beautiful morning here too.

Fingers crossed for a healthy, happy, prosperous and successful year to everyone on here and at Wasps.  Whatever the outcome of the next days, weeks and months we will still have a great club to follow and bring us excitement, joy and frustration.  Long may it continue.

When do they announce who has been cited? I'm beginning to wonder if there will be any citings from the game.

I think that is exactly the plan.

Listening to a phone in this morning on the woes of Manchester United and how difficult things are for the poor dears, things were put sharply into perspective by a CCFC fan.  He simply said that they would no longer exist after the end of January as the owners were intent on suing the owners of the Ricoh (he didn't mention Wasps per se).  The league have asked for confirmation, and apparently they have been told there is no 'Plan B' so it's get a deal with Wasps or nothing....but they are pursuing their action in the knowledge that it will result in the demise of the club!  Nothing new there, but interesting to hear it put like that on national radio.

I'm Iain and I am a 50 year old Chemical Engineer living in Thanet.  I started watching Wasps when a work friend offered to take my eldest to the London Double Header about 9 years ago or so.  We have followed Wasps ever since bringing my youngest daughter and late wife along on the journey.  There was one memorable occasion when my wife was ill and some very kind people (I won't embarrass them here) allowed us to share their box, and a certain Mr Cipriani stopped the Sale coach to come over to our car to chat with her.  A happy memory in sad times.

I have 2 daughters, a dog and like neither cars nor motorbikes, preferring self power - running, cycling and hill walking with my girls.

I'm not sure it is a lack of depth..just a lot of injuries.  It would hard to keep 3 top flight players in each position, but then 2 injuries at fly half and we are stretched at full back too. It's a damned tricky place to be. I just hope it isn't too much of a cricket score!

I agree re Guy, he is always picking up knocks, but I thought the issue with Reider was that he was / is a fringe player so missed out when one of the others came back from their various knocks.  I think he has had a few knocks but I didn't think it was unusually high (but that is based purely on perception and the stats may contradict that view).

It's odd how Simmo has changed.  He used to be quick and tested defences.  Is he being told to play in that way?  I would doubt it as Robson works very differently and I can't imagine the game plan changing that much just because he is out.  Could it be a confidence thing, or trying to be different to Robson?  It doesn't make a lot of sense. His box kicking has always been a bit hit and miss mind.  Just curious really.

Fair point...isn't Rose a bit of a bete noir for us too?  I can't quite remember, but I think on the TMO before he has been responsible for pushing dubious opinions?

We do get more than our fair share of inexperienced refs don't we?

I took it to mean that he felt exposed if one or other of Cips and Gopps were injured.  I don't think a 10 is imminent, just he is keeping abreast of who is suitable and available (or persuadable) should the need arise.

Dai said  he is 'coming to the end of his injury' which could mean - he will be back at some point, or he needs to make a decision.  The implication, though, was that they are not rushing him back and will make sure he is 100% before bringing him back. No timescales have been set though.
