Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Time for positivity.
« on: April 12, 2023, 01:49:08 PM »

So what you saying, Pudsey is lying?

No,. not at all.  Just that he clearly doesn't have accurate information.  How do you explain the fact that posts have been made, and that there is no access to social media?  Clearly something doesn't match up.

Your antagonism to the new Wasps regime is getting predictable and is continuously casting a dark cloud over what we hope to be a
fresh new chapter in our clubs history.

Lol!  What new Wasps regime? All I want is some communication.  I honestly think they had a real opportunity to be open and transparent about the whole process. To show the situation as it really is, and in doing so to build some genuine excitement and support. To both retain the existing fans, and even to add in some more along the way. They have done nothing at all for the fans.  The idea that no-one involved had the ability to set up a new twitter account and to post the odd update here or there is laughable.  If they wanted to, they would have.

Maybe I'll be positive about the club if an when it actually exists, but as it stands what on earth have the done to deserve any loyalty?

The Web hosting was paid as a priority, I know the chap who owns the company that was doing it.

As to website management I suspect that was done in house. Its possible that there was no system in place to record login credentials. But even so it's not beyond the wit of man to create a simple site as a holding measure until a proper new one can be built.

I'm not sure I buy that.

Someone has posted on the official Twitter several times since we went bust. How did they manage that if they couldn't access the social media?

If a documentary with an NDA is in being produced I am astonished at the utter disregard for the fans.

There are literally thousands of heartbroken fans desperate for some sign that something, anything, was being done. And they've all been completely ignored.

How many have come to terms with there being no Wasps and simply won't be back?

I suspect a large percentage.

The numbers of people here, not just posting, but those who only read as well, are massively down.

The blas? attitude towards the people who ultimately pay for the club is really sad. All for what can only be described as a vanity project.

For me what makes it worse is the fact that this is the only news we get.

If we had something, ANYTHING, to hold on to for the future of Wasps it wouldn't be quite so bad.

But all we have is a slow disintegration of all our hopes and dreams for the future of the team we've followed for decades.

Interesting how Hansen thinks of him as world class, but EJ ignored him for years.

I'd love to see his MOTM to Cap ratio compared to some other second rows...

Dobby and his wife Elizabeth are expecting a baby boy.

They put out a lovely video on Instagram.

An estate agent that immediately realised they share values with a club who cheat and lie?

Nice.

There is absolutely no reason for complete silence.

Maybe we have a deal on a ground that we aren't allowed to announce yet, but they could easily say that.

They could easily say they have signed players without naming them.

Do we have a kit to play in?

Do we have any sponsors?

Do we have any coaches?

They could easily create an atmosphere of excitement about the rebirth of the club so that they actually have some fans left when and if it happens.

So saying absolutely nothing means that either there is nothing to say, or that the people in charge have no idea about fan engagement. Or worse, just don't care.

Let's face it we'd have jumped at the offer had we had the choice.

Of course we ( or our owners) would have but we see the RFU getting involved here. Where were they when WW and Wasps went belly up.

Well yes, where indeed.

I think Irish might be ok. There are plenty of wealthy Americans who consider themselves to be Irish and will leap at the opportunity to prove it.  If they started the process early enough then I guess an American consortium of wannabe Irish is the perfect answer.

I suppose it's only a matter of time before "Wasps" stops automatically being us.

WWW has this thing about London and it's a broken record. But look what happened in the wastelands of Coventry. London will work if the stadium is the right size, and transport links. The Stoop is the perfect example for both. Full house for most games. Great atmosphere. For those of us who have travelled to Sarries, the journey is a nightmare and last bit a road trip by taxi or Shanks pony.
Best of all would be in the South East of London or just outside, I don't how many people I have heard say if Wasps had  stadium around Sevenoaks it would buzz. No professional rugby in this area
I was one of the messengers shot down repeatedly on Drunken Wasps, likewise here fold are (were) even more rose tinted.
The Midlands was a complete disaster, and mostly because for 150 years we have been around / within the M25 and the move was doomed. And then the grossly incompetant management of Eastwood / Vaughan and his merry band of board members that totally ignored the massive annual 7 year losses, and to the end had no plan B. To say our future is in the Midlands is insanity. Yet that is what the genius Holland and his interim CEO Scott are mouthing. Holland is of course tainted as a prior member of the disasterous board, and wants teh Midlands to use his training facility. The Legends are brilliant but he should not be allowed anywhere near the club, yet until we find a long or even medium term financier, he is the proud owner of our trophy cabinet and trading name.
Unless the Legends ditch him , find a backer with deep pockets who can steer us back to the South East, with plans for  a newbuild self owned stadium to be put in place within a few years, this new show is not going to get off the ground.

Wow, and I thought I was negative...

I hope they're ok.  I've always enjoyed watchign them and have been along to games there a fair few times.  I'd hate for them to go the same way we have.
