This is strange but I did notice how respectful Rotherham Titans were over this.

If a try had been scored and time was up then the laws allow the conversion to be taken. So cannot work out why there was any argument about the game ending before the kick. Also, if the touch judges raised their flags and the referee acknowledged it then the conversion was successful giving Titans 2 more points.

Can't work out why the referee should change his mind after the game. Glad there was video evidence to ensure the correct decision was made.

I played in a game where a ref apologised to me in the bar afterwards for disallowing a try I scored. He said held up at the time but when everybody got up I was clearly lying on the ball and no question it was a try. I restrained myself from telling him he needed glasses (probably because he was wearing some). However, the try didn't stand (during or after the game) and we just carried on playing. No idea of the result.

Why didn't he change his mind on the pitch when he saw you were lying on it?

The referee has to see it being grounded not just that it ends up on the ground once everyone has got up, anything could have happened to get it there (obviously in this case there were no shenanigans and Mellie clearly grounded it and was robbed of a length of the field score!)
