Nathan definitely used to look for space.
Players do change, I am wondering if  Billy V is going the same way as Nathan.

As for Daly, way back when we had Varndell and Wade he looked a special runner with defensive issues and uncertainty about if he was a 13 or 15.
Since then mobile and speedy back row players like Tom Young arrived, we turned opposition ball over regularly, and our stellar backs included Wade (world class attacking threat), Danny (world class with ball in hand at least), Piatau (bloody good if not quite world class), Beale (simply world class) and WLR (world class when in form).  It is easier to look fantastic in that company.l. Perhaps the 'true' Daly is that one, perhaps it is the old one at AP who struggled under high balls and never convinced at fifteen.

Its my perception that he occasionally bumps a first tackler off but comes to an abrupt standstill doing so.. and then is easily hauled down by the 2nd tackler.

...

As you say.. he does attract defenders but nothing normally comes out of that as a result

Last year with our back line firing, that would be ideal as we had the tools to exploit even the tiniest bit of space out wide, but Nate wasn’t fit.

This year he has been more available, but we haven’t had the sharpness, creativity, quality, accuracy, (however you want to put it) to get the ball wide quickly enough to exploit that space
