How did Sops look ball in hand? I.e. running the show

Ball in hand getting better, but not always good. At this rate he will need another year to get to the value of his salary. Kicking was poor at times.

Interesting....

I've tried looking up match stats to no avail, what factors lead to us winning so convincingly?

Far improved ball handling and passes. Improved rucking. Many flat passes, offloads to supporting players coming through at speed, and just HAVING supporting players to offload to.

Our defense was not so good.

Lineout was good.

Scrum was very strong.

Our second row was the main factor for me, especially Theo.

First half defence, second half was much improved.

Has Theo had a bad game for us? Fascinating that with all the searching for and  encouragement for young players with academies etc, he has appeared almost out of nowhere - and changed from being a fly-half to a second row.

Are you confusing Theo with Tibo?

You are mixed up. Tibo is the fly half convert and has not had a bad minute for us. Theo was immense today but has had a few meh moments in previous matches.

In fairness, Tibo had a good game, for the few minutes he was on.

Tibo is fantastic for a senior Academy player.

How did Bacon perform?

Not bad. Very few chances to excel. Covered well when needed. Seems quite slight in stature. Fast though.

Ball didn't really run in his direction. On the other hand, Josh benefited.

I am really pleased for those making the trip that they got some good action.
It really does feel good to be discussing only upsides.

From scoreboard and description of the match performance, it sounds like Wolstenholme may deserve getting more game time especially while Vellacott is injured?
