Potential Salary Dispensation For A Season
« on: January 20, 2020, 02:58:29 PM »
If this happens I may explode, implode..whatever.

RugbyPass understands that there have been talks with Premiership Rugby Limited to allow for a one-season salary cap dispensation, so that current Premiership teams may be able to pick these players up whilst, in theory, Saracens spend just the one season in English rugby’s second tier.

That is just total w**k

Its like the meme from some EA supporters elsewhere who are basically saying they hope they win the Euro to stick two fingers up at all those complaining about cheating.....and "we're not going to apologise to everyone"

FFS....Deep breath. And some EA supporters wonder why they aren't universally liked......

Rugby is worse with them and their smug sense of entitlement, and will not be worse off without them. I think we should just let them go down the pan, and 2 years out will help with that.

This article IMO is pure fantasy, I cannot see Premiership clubs wanting to support a club that has systematically cheated them all. Some of the players mentioned are probably well aware of the payment issues and as such are to an extent involved in it.

If it did happen, which I believe it won't, I can see the EAs saying we will loan you these players to help prop up England for a season, and when we are back in the GP we will have them back. The EAs acting like they are some sort of saviours of the English game. In addition if PRL then said to other clubs we will raise the cap for one year but only for players coming in from the cheating club then it is an absolute mockery, and not a level playing field as you can see wealthier clubs snapping them up and creating another massive divide. If I had extra salary cap at my disposal I wouldn't want to spend it on a back slapping smug cheat, has anyone got Beauden Barratt's number?

Alex Shaw is pretty reliable, that's my worry.

This ranks as possibly the worst idea I've ever seen. I can't believe there's any way the premier clubs will want a Sarries reject for a year to just to mark time with no commitment and pick up a salary until the cheats come back up. There's also the supreme irony of letting clubs break the cap to accommodate Sarries players. Not to mention the fact that after the year when the scattered Sarries "re-assemble" surely they'll be back over the cap. It's lunacy.

If Wasps do sign any Saracens players, I don't want any of them being loan signings.

This doesn't make sense.

As posted elsewhere, the rule is that you must be within the cap for 2 years to get promoted.

So if Saracens want to be promoted at the end of 20/21, then they need to be legal next season AND this season.

We know they're not legal this season, so they can't be promoted after just 1 year.

As such, this temporary increase in salary cap must need to be for 2 years

The Saracens problem is an ethical problem. So loaning players makes no sense, as it maintains the ethical problem. And in the same time, I guess that the financial arrangement are not simple to dismantle?
From France there is the rumour that players could come while the RFU let them play for the national team. But if they do this for ex-sarries, other player will ask for the same advantage.

I hope this article is just for buzz...

If this was Sale, or Bristol, or frankly anyone else, no one would give a shit.  Don't see why we should because it's Saracens.

Take your medicine!
