Yup, they just got hammered again. On top of the 35 already levied.

This is part of the new modified Salary cap regs:

* Teams can now be subjected to a mid-season audit if PRL believes they aren’t compliant with the cap.

* If they aren’t complying then a new 70 points deduction is available.

Is that why they've been docked another 70 points?

How did the new rules get implemented mid season without universal approval?

It was universally approved by the 13 clubs, PSB.

Premiership Rugby also stated that they had amended salary cap regulations 4.9d and 14.8 following the unanimous approval of its clubs.

Must be universal which means the EAs voted for it.  Unless there are bigger things happening with their representation on the Board.
Let me tell you something cucumber

Twitter quick summary  - EA supporters still in denial, RIL also on his/their high horse (bleating about unfairness) as they would have loved Tigers to go down being Saints fans. It appears based on what I have seen that the RFU have an issue with bringing the game into disrepute, which is fair because they have. EA supporters seem to think the goal posts have moved unfairly but the 13 PRL member clubs have voted for this and as such is has happened with EA blessing. The fallout continues as the Toronto Wolfpack marquee game in the 13 man code has now been moved to Warrington. They have a toxic brand at the moment and I can see everything imploding over the next few weeks.

So just to catch up today the following has happened:

- Saracens Interim CEO has quit.
- BT Sport have decided not to show three Saracens matches they planned to show and avoided them completely from the latest picks.
- Saracens have been docked 70 more points.
- Toronto Wolfpack have pulled out of staging a game at Allianz Park saying "This decision has unfortunately been forced upon the Wolfpack after significant changes were made to the agreed terms and conditions of the originally agreed fixture at Saracens."

Talk about giving meaning to the expression "no news is good news". What their fans and media team would give for there to be no news about them right now.

The irony is I don't think anyone will miss them, apart from their supporters and hangers on like Stephen Jones and Venter.

I loathe the back slapping and high fiving when they gain a scrum penalty, they were leading Rugby Union towards a football galactico type world, a million miles from what I admire in a sport. Rugby Union IMO is a game for everyone and is accessible and based on sound principles, the EAs wanted it to be for the elite with a win at all costs mentality, and importantly they thumbed their nose at tradition and what is important to the people like us and in some of their own 'fan base', people who genuinely love the sport for what it is.

Mine too. I would like a Tardis to send their pack back through time to pat Wade Dooley or Buster White on the head........

Goodness - assuming that is the almost end of the saga. Why are they still allowed to be in the QFs of the European Cup?!
The odd issue for me is why they accepted relegation rather than allowing the PRL to audit their accounts. Were there more things hidden in their financials?

I'm a little suspicious of this. Has some fudge gone on that means successive seasons of breach have all been penalised in one season? For me that gets it all out the way in one go. I'd have liked to have seen the down for the same amount of seasons they breached.

I still feel sorry for their fans, who have been badly let down by the club

Any other changes to the cap regulations aside from those listed above?  It's been mentioned that in order to gain promotion from the Championship a team has to demonstrate 2 years of compliance, something which, by their own admission, Sarries will be unable to do by the end of next season.  Might this have been a trade off?  I'm surprised no-one's cottoned on to this as I've seen no media reports suggesting their exile could be for more than just a single season.
