So was this performance for Dai or because he’s no longer involved? ( just playing devils advocate)

It's a question that was sure to be asked. Only time will tell. Let's just enjoy tonight for what it was. So gutted the evening kick off meant I couldn't be there.

That's even better news than the result.

Jacob was truly worthy of the MoTM.

But, so was the team. You heard me right. We played like a team. I have not seen that for a long while.

We did not implode after 20 minutes. We did not fall to pieces when the replacements came on. Of those replacements (bearing in mind that Booj was on for seconds before taking one ro the head), only one was below par, Sopoaga, and only a little bit. But, compare him to Jacob - no, there isn't a way to do that. Jacob was on fire. His field kicking was sublime. Passing too.

The team did everything they should have been doing for months. Tackling pushing back the attack at each contact. When going into contact, pushing the defenders back. Supporting attackers. Offloading. It was ALL there. It was, in simple terms, a masterclass.

Any standout players? Plenty should be getting 10's in the scores on the board from BB. Dare I say Jacob, Shields, Carr and Willis were better still? We have never seen Shields play like that. We have seen Carr play like that, even when he covered 12 for a while (we had run out of backs). But Jacob, Carr and Shields play the 80, and went full tilt the whole game. Stunning to watch. What's the best thing to do when you are defending on your own 5m line? Do it the old Wasps way, run it the length of the pitch in a matter of seconds and score another try. Jimmy's place kicking was metronomic, missing one of nine I think (and that from the touchline on his wrong side).

Tibo was ... and Matthews ... superb both of them. TT was a demon in defence. Kibirige outpaced everyone.

If you weren't there, my apologies, but you missed one of the best games I have watched in a long, long time.

It WAS recorded, so it will emerge on the Prem site in a few days.

Yes, I had a bad cold, so I was iffy about whether to go, but my dad wanted to go, so I took him. Ah, the vagaries of fate.

Very important that - Matthews and Thibaud were excellent. In attack and defence. And they looked like they had a ball.

Peeved that BT pulled the game. Will have to wait for the highlights.

From all the comments, it really does sound as though a lot fell into place tonight. The Sarries side, irrespective of who was missing, are no mugs.

The crowd was pretty decent for a Friday night, coupled with what a lot have said, was a great atmosphere inside the stadium.

Trev - good to see that you are on the mend.

I might even pop down the M4 to the MadStad next Sunday.

Heathen, the Rugby Gold NBC works very well.

The crucial thing about the game tonight was that we put them under continuous pressure, and did not buckle in defence ourselves. That is where the holes came from.

And Jacob chipped them brilliantly, de-fusing their off-side defensive line better than anyone I have seen.

John: you missed a great Wasps performance.
Was it Toulouse or Stade Francais we beat by 80 or so points when we were based at Loftus Road. The team was that good.
A couple of early dropped kicks in our 22 got us on the edge of our seats but after that it was all Wasps. Saracens never showed any sign of getting back into the game.

One other thing, Watson pulled up with a leg muscle/tendon type thing late in the first half. Hamstring or what I could not tell, but he looked in pain. He may be out again for a few games.

Ooh, and, I didn't see any Sarries fans. Not saying there weren't any, I simply didn't see one.

I didn't get to this match, but I was a guest of Saracens at the St Valentine's day massacre.

The sweetness of that game will last a lifetime.
