Thought Vellacott slowed things down when he came up, not sure it worked for us, we didn't look that threatening after he appeared.

+1

I was surprised Sam was replaced, I thought it was the best he’s played for a while.  He looked sharp and his passing had much better accuracy.

Just cracking the malt open! Don't care how or what should have been, just chuffed for them to get a win.

Is Dean Richards ok? Looks quite unwell tonight besides the eyesight issues.

If I didn't know the bars were closed it was like Dean Richards has been in the bar all game based on that interview!

Ignore the other noise but good spirit to get a result.

Glad we won, wasn't pretty but it's a win.

Still not great attack, but Newcastle were relentless in defence. Like scary. Wolstenholme looked better, but man Gopperth had so much energy. Most energetic I've seen Gopperth play for months. Barbeary also looked good.

And yeah glad we won for once.

West phenomenal when he came on. Shields an absolute warrior, Sione emptied the tank - so where do we make space for Alfie?

HDAWG; I'd avoid the Sale game then when it comes...

I partly don't give one for how - the win is the important thing. But in winning (that sounds great) what on earth do we have to do to get some parity from the reffing?

That might sound odd given 2 yellows - but I'd guess we were worth 10 points more than that.....Still - I'll take the win

I hope that little xxxx gets banned - it was considered and deliberate foul play. I can imagine some of our players of the past "not taking kindly" to that sort of behaviour....

Massive relief - a win. Karma on their winger. Still seething about the gouge - so deliberate and utterly cowardly - the lowest act out there. West transformed the scrum - he's a special player. Whole back row did well and special mention for Shields who has been brilliant for a while and was again. Blackett unleashed the big carriers early and Falcons couldn't handle it. Thought Wolstenholme did well and felt safe with Jimmy at 10. Great to enjoy a win. Hope Carreras gets a big ban - I thought we'd got rid of filth like that.

Do we think Vailanu just emptied the tank or picked up another knock.
He played very well but a bit like Billy V picks up a lot of injuries playing the way he does.
Tom Willis to fit in too

Turned off when Gopperth put the cross field kick into the Newcastle wingers arms. Looks like I'm going to have to watch it through later.

Thought at the time here we go again , fortunately stayed with it . Much better performance all round , much calmer , even with the gouging incident.

Everything Shugs said, esp. about Carreras; he deserves a big ban  - and so does the ref.  I am a nervous wreck.

It is extraordinary how the physical dominance can be lost in the first half and won in the second. I think Dean must be wondering what happened.

[BTW he clearly needs a hip surgeon to have a look at him. He is such a hero - of all England/Lions players, coach etc-  I hope he gets the best]
