Stupid Rumour?

Somebody on SBT posted yesterday that Wasps had bought Brentford. Not posting on the other site as I think it is rubbish but...?

Looks like a weak rumour to me.
I'm sure that London Irish were in talks with Brentford anyway.

If I recall, Brentford was one of the options Wasps looked at before the move.
I think at the time, there was a "no rugby" policy in place there, but that has since been removed when Irish were looking at them

Correct Brentford FC and Wasps were in discussion but the original plans for the new ground specifically stated that it was a single use stadium ie football. This has since changed and London Irish have an agreement. As I said a stupid rumour.

Also there is no secret that Wasps were in preliminary discussions - we were told at ST holders meeting the rough details.

Think Derek also didn't fancy a 5 year wait on a new stadium where we'd be tenants again (the shared ownership was taken off the table I believe). It's already got less conferencing facilities and seating now I think?
