Saying we have signed Will Haydon-Wood from Newcastle. A fly half!

We have fallen by the Wayside in the chase for the other Watson but I thought that was some time ago.

Article on Jack but similar to others last week.

Wrt Watson, oh well. Good player, but always injured or o international duty.

As for Haydon-wood, it's another 10, but
it comes across as not exactly a reliable experienced 10. We really do have an emphasis on signing young players, aside from Frosty it's not quite paid off yet. I know absolutely nothing about this kid, but on paper doesn't sound like anything other than depth.

Hayden-Wood was excellent last week apart from 1 bizarre kick.Glad we’re not pursuing Watson.

Surely a young, inexperienced fly half is exactly the sort of fly half that we should not be looking to sign?

Agreed. Shorter and lighter than either Charlie or Jacob.

Is age and experience a factor. I’ll settle for a good 10. Could be that Umaga is seen as a 15 by Blackett. Signing an experienced 10 who is affordable and not worried about being potentially second or third choice was always going to be nigh on impossible.

Yes, I agree - Jacob as 15 so need someone else with Charlie.

Given the reaction of the Newcastle board, this might be a clever signing. Not experienced, which is unfortunate, but he could be to us what Lozowski was to Saracens. You never know! They seem really annoyed about this rumour.

Edit: and he night overtake Charlie/Umaga and give competition. Given the hype seen around him, he might be a good alternative. I'm rather swayed now....

From the 2019/2020 preseason assessment:

Many of these players are pushing for International places already.
