Am I right with today's announcement that takes us up to a squad of 45 to work with next season?

So far, yes. But there may well be one, maybe two, more incoming where the contract(s) are being finalised, and the academy to senior moves may not have all been announced yet. That might see us on 48. Even with credits, you can see why the money is tight. But a much better base to work from. One could hope that the long run in to the GP (after the RWC) from now might see a solid, harmonious squad by the time real points are up for grabs, even with vacations. They have, what, 6 months to prepare?

Was interesting to hear both Daly & Simmo say in their post game interviews on the pitch after Quins, say that the atmosphere in the squad is the tightest its been in years. So a great atmosphere for the lads to enter into fulltime.

If we can keep that going and gell the lads with the extended prep time (as you say Nelly), then I see us bouncing back strongly over the next couple of seasons

It's interesting to draw a comparison with Marcus Smith. He was thrown in at the deep end last season at 18 and has shown increasing maturity in his play. I fancy Alfie B will be in the senior squad in 12 months time.

I think the answer is in the title thread.

He was in the various post season photos which means he hasn't left.. he wasn't announced in the academy promotions..

What other things can clubs spend on their up and coming talent to keep them.. Itoje has done this.. Attwood will do it with Bristol

Gone to Uni. At least, I think that is what Itoje has done.

Will it be a local university, or somewhere farther afield?  Leeds?  Auckland?
