Champions Cup: Glasgow Warriors may be given 28-0 loss over Lyon cancellation - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/55349681

If unfortunate Glasgow get this sort of penalty for having to isolate due to Exeter then Chiefs must get the same. This hands Toulouse a 5 point win.

The linked article says
"All sides in this year's tournament agreed to forfeit matches if fixtures could not be fulfilled due to Covid."

So it must be 28-0 to Toulouse as well then. Very unfortunate for Exeter but that appears to be the rules.

Seen this and in another report. They sort of link it to what happened to Sale , autumn nations cup etc but then go on to mention the meeting of the panel who will decide outcome. So either the wording on the EPCR site is wrong (or I’m reading it wrong) or journalists have got it wrong. As result won’t be known for 72 hours ,suggests to me EPCR don’t want other games to be affected by pre knowledge of points given.

Here's the full article, and it appears to based on diddly squat:

Glasgow Warriors could be handed a 28-0 'defeat' in their cancelled Champions Cup match with Lyon, which would mean their hopes of progression were slim.

Twenty Glasgow players are isolating after a Covid-19 outbreak at Exeter, who beat Warriors 42-0 last weekend.

All sides in this year's tournament agreed to forfeit matches if fixtures could not be fulfilled due to Covid.  Did they?  I've not read that anywhere other than here.

Fiji's opponents were awarded 28-0 wins when their Autumn Nations Cup fixtures were cancelled because of coronavirus.  Irrelevant as those were the pre-agreed rules for that particular tournament.

European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) is still awaiting test results from all the clubs involved. Once those results are known the matter will go to the EPCR Match Result Resolution Committee to determine the results of the cancelled matches.  As per the rules of EPRC competitions.

A decision is expected within the next 72 hours.

I hope it is just speculation. Unless negligence is proven, a 5/0 point split is harsh - a 4/2 split seems more palatable if the schedules don’t permit a reschedule.

EPCR taking sensible precaution of removing ref  Mathieu Raynal for Mike Adamson for Connaught game so he can self isolate following Exeter game.

The most equitable way to deal with this (for me anyway) is to double up points on the return fixture. If a team legitimately beats the other in 1 match while the other was cancelled at least the winner benefits. That would be especially pertinent to a hard to call fixture where the outcome is very unclear to anyone.

Not a bad idea.

But to get Toulouse to agree to that when return fixture is at Sandy Park might be a big ask.

However if it was to be switched to their ground might work.

Just penalise Exeter 28 - 0 and be done with it. Glasgow are inadvertent participants in this so they shouldn't be penalised so severely.

The problem with that is who qualifies might well be decided on points difference and now you're penalising a 3rd party who could argue that Exeter might have lost but would have scored some points and a 28 point margin is unlikely.

I'm not saying I'm against it, just playing devils advocate.

Its a real mess and nobody going to be happy no matter what happens.

That going to be interesting . EPCR say happy for game to go ahead .Toulon refuse , so forfeit game? My mind should be straight 28:0 to Scarlets

Positive test and resulting actions announced earlier in the week, Toulon travel over, see it's very rainy, decide to go home citing Covid concerns?
