Not too sure about why the Club needed to face the Wasp in the opposite direction, but apart from the antennae, which look "wrong" have nothing to really complain about.

Apparently the Wasp is now facing forwards which will make us a more dynamic, progressive and forward thinking club or some such consultancy mumbo jumbo. Hopefully we didn't pay the ions that BP and I I paid back in the 80s when they were told removing the serifs from their font would make them more dynamic corporations 🤔
No it's definitely going sideways as we look at it - just now going left to right as opposed to going right to left as the previous logo was.

However from the actual Wasp's viewpoint it is going in the opposite direction to whatever it was doing before.

If the markettng genius that sold the management on the "facing forwards" bullsh1t had tried that on me I'd want to know why he thouhgjt we had been going backwards for the last 150+ years!

I remember rumblings and mumblings when our badge changed in 1999 (I am being generous here) But I grew to like our now old badge. This one I like a lot more, there are nods to the traditional badge, but more importantly it is striking and alligns all our teams together...I appreciate others will think differently but for me this is a good step.

For those who still hate the new logo, I've been reminded it could be a lot worse (see the Crusaders "improved" logo).
Lot of guff there too !

It is a wasp.
Someone got paid to turn it round, give it 4 legs and remove the ball that looked like an egg that the last rebranders added.
Someone probably got a promotion too.
If it were me I would have just gone back to the shirts and badges of the late 90s, but then I would have not charged anyone to rebrand. Happy to unify the brand, but struggling to whip up emotion either way.
It is not as symbolic as badge changes from sporting history like development of SA badges upon readmission or even on a smaller scale the removal of the words 'football  club' from the man united badge. This is not one of those rebrandings.
These things happen and often seem to not make much difference. This is one if them.
I will still buy a shirt next year if there is a cotton version and not if there is the usual pro or dri fit type material. The badge won't change my mind either way.

If memory serves me right, the original logo couldn’t be copy righted, so a new logo was sought. When it was launched there was absolute uproar, as the rebranders had gone for some abomination that was based on the Super12 Franchises. It was only after that stink, was there a further hasty redesign and the launch of the logo that we had until now.

Thankfully, we haven’t been as stupid as that this time round. But at least we’ve got our own new logo. Glozzer ended up with a reshaded version of the Tigers logo.

Comments from other sites.

From a design blog
https://www.creativebloq.com/news/wasps-logo

From totalflanker
https://www.totalflanker.co.uk/2021/07/wasps-evolve.html

I was trying to find a copy of the attrocious "new logo" that branding company eightyone600 came up with back in about 2013, and was inadvertently put up on youtube before being hastily taken down after people on the old DW site found it.

What a humungous waste of money that could have been put to a far  better use elsewhere.  Just remove the rugby ball ghost and that would suffice. Not only does this 'new' 'Wasp'  appear to  have swopped it's feelers for a pair of ears belonging to a terrier dog but it's walking - nay, trudging -  as if it is holding firmly onto a zimmer frame.  It asks for 'additional artwork' to be added to it.  Walking sticks. Shopping  trolley ...............  white stick, guide dog, torch, frying pan ...................

New logo is fine with me. We're on version 4 now since I started supporting the club in 1996 (including the London dropping). Plus there have been at least 2 prior to that design also. The new ones have always been a cleaner version of the previous. We'll get used to it and move on

Wow only just seen the Crusaders logo / assume the issue is that it looks like two flaccid penises touching - surely someone must have seen that -  after seeing that faux pas ours is definitely not really a problem

This issue addresses the issue with the Crusaders name/logo in quite an amusing way.

Sorry to resurrect this but was sent this that appeared on a specialist "marketing" website (It's a closed one, so can't link to it)

Actually. on second thoughts that wasp looks like me ... looking for it's sticks. passed it's sell-by date and extremely wonky.  Knew I'd seen it somewhere before.
