Guy Thompson Retires

Guy has announced he is retiring, one player I was always disappointed we lost, and someone I feel was unjustly kicked out by Tigers after basically keeping them in the Prem.

Do you think this is another byproduct of the new lower cap? Teams offloading players at the end of their careers a few years early, to afford to bring youngsters up from their Academies and remain within the cap? I can't help feeling that we may see a few players 'moving on' or retiring because we can't afford to keep them (within that new cap), and they can't find a home elsewhere.

I couldn't agree more.  I was lucky enough to sponsor him (saved up my pension)  for the 5 years that he was with us, and he is a super bloke.  I too was sickened by the treatment he received at the hands  of Tigers.  So unfair.  He is great fun, and extremely kind and thoughtful.  Much happiness  and good fortune Guy in everything you do.  For one last time  I will repeat my favourite phrase .............  "I told you he was good".  Thank you Guy.  All the very best.

One of Dai's finest moves in the transfer market.  His try in the corner at the Mayol to oh so nearly beat Toulon is a great memory.  Toulon at that time were still almost invincible in Europe, particularly at home, and we came oh so close to a major upset.

Good luck Guy in whatever the future holds.

Guy was a real workhorse and had a fantastic career. I wish him well for the future.
