Wasps Rugby Discussion / Matteo Minozzi injured
« on: February 22, 2020, 04:13:44 PM »
Just helped off the field right at the end of the game...

Officially head injury assessment but seemed to be holding his arm against his chest, so could be rib, arm or collar. Hopefully nothing serious.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / OT - Former player replies well to online abuser
« on: February 20, 2020, 08:48:33 AM »
Thought this may be of interest. This guy has lived so much of his life under a spotlight. I love how his response and Gloucester's response rise above the abusive uniformed poster.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Edinburgh match
« on: December 06, 2019, 09:34:31 PM »
Well it looks like a shed load of injuries and no points, about as bad an outcome as it could have been.

To my eye, Carr is really playing well and at times the backs were flowing, it must be so frustrating for the players.

Twice in the second half the wing got sucked in to make space for a try when it didn't seem necessary to panic.

The ref seemed happy with JTA, maybe starting to get the hang of northern rugby.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Hope the drains are working at Kingsholm
« on: October 25, 2019, 08:15:20 AM »
Just had a look at my met office weather app for the weekend and was greeted with a sea of those black cloud icons. Looking online I see that a 'risk to life' warning has been issued in the Welsh borders.

It's been a busy week so just hadn't heard about it. Found this;

Safe travels all, looks like it should pass before the game. Just hope the pitch is playable and the weather doesn't cause any harm.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Bristol
« on: October 18, 2019, 09:43:49 PM »
Spoiler
Well Bristol have signed the Nathan from 2 seasons ago, picking up Mom, seems not playing international rugby is suiting him. Quite a statement from Bristol and quite hard watching Charles and Nathan being interviewed at the end. Going to be interesting when we play them.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Minozzi?

Along the lines of Neils' post about Vailanu, I noticed Minozzi wasn't playing last night, is he fit?

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Wales v England
« on: August 18, 2019, 08:41:27 AM »
Really not sure what to get from the game yesterday, or a week ago. I don't think the following are spoilers and the topic should scare off anyone that hasn't seen the game yet.

Two things that stood out for me, one was how upright the tackling was and Dan Biggar literally jumping into Maro Itoji so high that Biggars chest was at Itoji's head height, how that is ok, doesn't follow the letter or spirit of keeping tackle height down.

The other thing that stood out was Billy Vunipola giving George North a wedgy as he held him up, ouch!

Wasps Rugby Discussion / High ball
« on: May 30, 2019, 11:54:21 AM »
Just wondering what people's thoughts are about dealing with the high ball following the departure of WLR and Wade. Both players were excellent under the high ball, both at winning it and then doing something with it.

Miller and our other back three players that I have seen are good, but I wonder if they put the same fear into sides. In the way that players would think twice about kicking the ball to Wade for example?

How are the new recruits to the first team under the high ball?

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Come on Tigers (spoiler)

Tight game at the Stoop. Quins edging it at the moment.

Guy off early, quick call on concussion,  hope he's ok. You can never fault his commitment.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Tigers game

My eye hurts. Think home advantage won that, it is as if anything Wasps do is scrutinised so much more than other teams. How many trys of the week have passes obviously forward in the lead up, yet Wasps always called out on it.

Thought Miller and Simpson played well, sadly WLR and Gabi just seemed to be pushing too hard. Like to think Marcus is recovering his pre-injury form.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / American football throw
« on: January 20, 2019, 11:03:54 PM »
Just wondering why we don't see more overhead, one handed throws like in American football. Not all the time, but it seems more suited to those attempts at long passes when there isn't immediate threat of a tackle.
