Wasps Rugby Discussion / A big IF
« on: April 15, 2018, 07:58:13 AM »
Enjoying Wasps scoring a bonus point win. So with the way other results have gone so far, third place looks back in the players hands. Whilst I hope Bath bounce back today and makes second tantalisingly close, we'd still need other results to go our way.

So IF we came third and Sarries second would Sarries have the game at Allianz, or is there any hope that they would choose an alternative?

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Wasps v Worcester Warriors

Looks like despite everything we can put a pretty decent  team together. Great to have JdeJ back to 'fully fit', I guess that puts Daly back on the wing. With Bassett's injury it makes Daly's game time on the wing with Wasps seem very useful. Gabi also back in the nick of time as Gopperth will need to move back to fly half by the look of it. It is just a perception, but I think Cips has been playing through his ankle injury, where he may he may have been rested if other players such as Eastmond were available. With Cips now forced out, I wish even more that we had Eastmond available, the few times he played he looked great and created lots of opportunities, until the brain farts that is.

Worcester had a great game last week, I just worry that we will struggle to score tries again.

Looks like he is getting close to fitness. There was quite a good interview with him on a Rugby Dungeon pod cast.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / An enjoyable game
« on: March 26, 2018, 10:15:03 AM »
Disappointed, but managed to enjoy the game. It feels like we are about where we deserve to be and I feel this game has finally adjusted my expectations for the season a little. Just too much bad luck this season I feel. We could still make the semis but it's looking a tall order and progressing to the final would be wonderful, but we are going to need some luck with injuries to fall our way between now and then to have a chance against Sarries or Exeter.

I am worried about Cipps, I don't think he has recovered fully and was only playing because of worse injuries elsewhere, he wasn't running as much as usual especially towards the end. Seemed to be being protected by the other players.

Also, really enjoyed seeing Wade almost single handedly repel the Leicester maul, must be one for his scrap book!

The gardeners are going to be busy at the grounds this week. Wonder if the Ricoh has under soil heating, looks set to be snowing on and off all week. Not sure I have seen soup for sale, might take a flask!

Game wise I am very much in the best team available camp, two week break afterwards. There have been some funny results recently. Worcester beat Exeter then Irish beat Worcester. Definitely not an easy run in with Leicester and Irish finding form, Sale away, Newcastle away.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Morning all!
« on: February 24, 2018, 11:26:47 AM »
Morning all, best wishes to you and yours. I still cannot post or pm on the other site, recently discovered that I can post on other team sites in Sports Network, so it does appear I got banned from the Wasps site, no explanation given no response to messages, the nice editor of the England site forwarded my last question to the correct person. Shame, as most of the chat is still in the other one.

I hope the pack have something left in the tank for this one, it would really put us in a good position. I wonder if Miller has been focussing on fly half and this is why we haven't seen much of him. In any case, really hope he goes well.

May the best team on the day win, but, you know, Come on You Wasps!

Safe travels,
Notso

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Gaby out for 4 weeks
« on: February 22, 2018, 09:16:41 AM »
He was cited by independent citing commissioner Nick Wood for a dangerous tackle on Exeter Chiefs’ Sam Hill, contrary to law 9.13, in the second half of the Aviva Premiership match Wasps v Exeter Chiefs on Sunday 18 February 2018. This reflects Wasps upcoming playing schedule.

Lovobalavu contested the charge but was found guilty by the panel. He was given a four week suspension and is free to play again on 10 April 2018.

Panel chairman Jeremy Summers said: “The panel found that the player’s shoulder had struck the head of the Exeter player following a tackle that had been recklessly high and delivered with force.

“The panel are mandated to enter at mid-range and having given the player credit for his clean record and other mitigating factors, reduced the sanction by two weeks. He was not eligible for full credit having not accepted the charge.”

The panel comprised Jeremy Summers (chair) with Becky Essex and Michael Tutty.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Alex Rieder

“Alex suffered a serious multiple knee injury against Exeter. He is seeing a specialist in London this week who will decide how best to approach it.”

Oh cr@p, paranoid about the word 'multiple' being used in relation to injuries. Really hope he fixes well, he must have carried 15m or so before the injury.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Advice for Gloucester
« on: February 21, 2018, 08:39:41 AM »
Thinking of taking family to the game on Saturday. I know it can be a bit rowdy, any advice on best stand? I know to avoid the shed! Are there any Waspy areas, be nice to be near some friendly faces.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Exeter game
« on: February 15, 2018, 02:11:54 PM »
Mouthwateringly exciting. Wasps have found some form whilst Exeter have had a little wobble and are starting to be affected by England duty. I know our record overall isn't great against them, but the games at Ricoh have gone our way a few times (3 wins I think). Every chance of getting a win cannot wait for the team announcements, going to be bouncing all weekend!

Wondering if he is still not 100% match fit. Could be my perception, but I thought he looked bigger and a little slower when he came on for us. It would be great to have a fit Nathan back, but barring injury it is hard to be too worried about the back row given the performances last week.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Can we just get on with the rugby
« on: February 09, 2018, 09:43:02 AM »
Not enjoying the media build up to the Six Nations this weekend. I don't like seeing the attempts at mind games, like Eddie's comments about Rhys Patchell. There have been a few discussions about respect at games, I feel the respect should be there through all of the game. Roll on tomorrow afternoon!
