Wasps Rugby Discussion / Scrum half
« on: February 05, 2018, 08:05:52 AM »
I think players ambition for national selection should always be supported over the affect of the loss on Wasps. I realise it is unlikely Dan will be called over Wigglesworth because of the lack of time with England, but I really hope this is his chance. We have good cover in Hampson and Simpson.

Hampson seems to have gone well in the AW, I am not sure he can get to the ruck as quickly as Simpson yet, but he is an impressive third choice and has two great players to learn from.

I really don't get why there seems to be a downer on Simpson recently. Robson is having a good run of form, that doesn't mean Simpson is bad. Simpson has also had great runs of form and I remember Healey really promoting him for England, he just got unlucky with the timing of injuries before chances for England and then British 7's.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Impressive performances
« on: February 04, 2018, 06:35:03 PM »
Great to see so many good performances from the established, returning injured and academy. The front row were going really well again, really encouraging for the future. Jack Willis as expected, but Will Owen was brilliant as well, try saving rip. Umaga looked so assured, and made some great tackles against some big forwards.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / "Limping off for a head injury assessment"
« on: February 04, 2018, 01:21:19 AM »
Nicely summed up by the commentry team. Again controversy involving France. Do they forget that lots of people are watching, it is very poor sportsmenship and brings the game into disrepute. Glad it didn't change the result in the end.

As in the title. Just search for 'federazione italiana rugby' in facebook.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / No contract for James Haskell
« on: January 31, 2018, 10:48:24 AM »
Sad to read the announcement. I hope he gets a good contract with another club if that is what he wants. It seems he is still in the England fold so there must be clubs with an interest.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Morning all!
« on: January 27, 2018, 12:09:22 PM »
Morning all, best wishes to you and yours.

Still unable to post in the other place, but great that I can comment here and get my fix. Funny feeling about today, I get the feeling that the injury list has prevented us from putting more first team experience in the mix, which is a shame for the guys playing, but fully understandable. I suspect we might see a few more next week at home as we ramp up to aviva again. I am a little concerned about the rest and relaxation. I get that they needed it and have earnt it, but I always get the feeling they come back a little off the pace and Quins away hasn't been great for us.

Look forward to seeing hearing and finding out as much as I can about the game and the performance of this group. If they go well against a near full strength Irish then what a statement for the future.

Here's to a great game and some great performances.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Wonder if Ricoh will host a semi final?
« on: January 22, 2018, 08:39:33 AM »
So if Sarries were to beat Leinster then I think the semi final would be in England. Madejski or Ricoh?

Trying to work out if I would want to go if it were Ricoh. If it's reasonably priced I'd perhaps go with my Wasps colours and enjoy the atmosphere and a day of rugby, bit like the Prem final.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Haskell 4 weeks
« on: January 18, 2018, 08:01:50 AM »
So Haskell gets 4 weeks, suspect that quashes England chances.

Lots of chat about the incident. I remember he flew out of the line in Australia and flattened Pockcock who barely had his little toe on the ground and landed just about flat on his back. An important action in the game that was very nearly a red card. Just makes me think how fine the line is.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Morning all

Morning all, best wishes to you and yours.

Just sat with a bacon roll and cup of tea waiting to watch my favourite team (U14A!) play and starting to wonder about my second team later. Quit an impressive team given he injuries and great to see Eastmond is back.

Here's to a great game, safe travels, may the best team win.

Come on You Wasps!

We have Quins twice over the next 5 weeks, wonder if they will be with Marler.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Sam Jones in full training or maybe not
« on: January 02, 2018, 10:11:11 PM »
There is an injury update in the Cov Telegraph with a headline saying Sam is in full training, but the body says he is close to full training. So he either is back in full training or still in the 'nearly back' as he seems to have been all season.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / One too many
« on: December 31, 2017, 04:28:54 PM »
Just before kick off when it was announced that Kyle was out I really thought that was one injury too many, then the first 30 mins happened. It really seems like there is good competition in the squad and players realising they need to make the most of their opportunities. It also looked like they were playing carefully, not just flinging it every time.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Have I been barred from Spotsnetwork?
« on: December 07, 2017, 02:13:26 AM »
I seem to have been logged out from the other place, when I try and reset my password I don't get an email. I am starting to wonder if I have been barred, but would be surprised as I don't think I have ever been controversial.
