Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Bon martin a tous!

Morning all, I was going to start a thread "what can we hope to get out of today's game" but this thread is covering that.

I really hope our defence continues to evolve/improve as it has of late and we cut down on the missed tackles and knock on's. I would also like to see good performances from the players brought in from the Championship such as Searle, MLB and Neal. In other words yes I expect a defeat today but I hope Toulouse have to work hard to get their win.

Safe travels to all those at the game.

Stronger team than expected but Dai did say whoever is fit is in the 23.

Slightly concerned that Daly has had the captaincy taken away with all this going to Saracens talk.

I'm still a bit confused, Daly is under contract to Wasps for next season and his alleged contract clause regarding the training ground must now be null and void due to the news of a deal been done earlier this week? Am I missing something?

I've only recently converted from blasting around Oxfordshire and the Cotswold on sporty naked bikes to travelling further afield on more tourer friendly machines. I've been to France a few times and loved the Pyrenees visiting places such as Rocamadour and riding up twisty mountain roads. The trouble with France is all the best roads are two days riding in the south of the country but worth it when you get there.

For great roads but less of a cultural experience the much closer to home area of Snowdonia is fantastic riding, in fact most of Wales is great North of the M4 as is the Peak District and Scotland North of Glasgow.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Are we expecting too much?
« on: December 10, 2018, 12:18:58 PM »
I think Wasps fans in general expect too much from the team, they've read things like "richest club in the Premiership" and seen high profile Southern Hemisphere signings and then with this huge stadium we play in expect to win every game.

As a long time time supporter I've seen both highs and lows and despite the uncertainty with player retention, legal shenanigans and Wasps Holdings financial losses, im still of the opinion that we are currently in one of the highs rather than lows moments in time.

I'm Steve 49 years old and from Banbury, I chose Wasps as my team when they started playing at Loftus Road as that's where my dad used to take me to watch football. Used to have a season ticket at Adams Park but now either cherry pick games at the Ricoh or go for the half season ticket.

I also ride motorbikes and as well as my trusty Vespa scooter I'm the proud owner of a new Triumph Tiger XRT of which I plan to tour Western Europe on in the next few years.

Line outs led by Myall were very good yesterday, we were solid enough in the scrum and the defensive structure was fine but let down by too many missed tackles.

The problem is our attack, our forwards are making some good yards with hard, fast runs but the backs are struggling to make any headway whatsover. Watching Cordero yesterday make break after break I'm hoping the rumours of him coming to the Ricoh to replace Wade come to fruition.

Yes I thought Campagnaro might be the utility substitute as he could cover more positions than De Jong. Saying that if there's a back 3 injury Daly would move out and Juan would take over at 13.

Good looking squad, shame I can't make it but will be glued to BT Sport.

Well if we are counting long term injured as fit and playing as well as they did pre injury then I'd go with this.

1 Mullan
2 Taylor
3 JCW
4 Lury
5 Haskell
6 Shields
7 Young
8 Hughes
9 Robson
10 Lima
11 Daly
12 Gopperth
13 De King
14 Bassett
15 APR

16 McIntyre
17 Johnson
18 Brookes
19 Rowlands
20 Nemo
21 Simpson
22 Searle
23 Campagnaro

The top two will obviously still be top two at the end then I would think Wasps and Glaws make up the top four. After that I have no idea whatsoever. Worcester probably favourites to go down. Sorry I couldn't be more insightful but it is a bunched up table.

...but I had other business to finalise at Blade Triumph in Stratford!

Picking up the bike today? A bit of a miserable day for it, sadly, but may a ray of sunshine from the lads later today.

Bought a new Triumph? Which model? Funnily enough I was due at Blade Triumph this morning at 10am as my mate was booked in for a test ride on a Explorer but the weather meant we rescheduled.

I think it was a Street Twin he was getting. I have a 2018 Honda CB1100RS. You ride as well Coddy? Are you local to South Warwickshire as well?

Yes mate, I ride a Triumph Tiger 800. I'm from Banbury so close to South Warwickshire.
