Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Simmo....

I think Bayfield at pitchside referred to it as that.. but "broken" leg is a very broad term.. it might just be a chipped bone, stress fracture as opposed to a compound fracture of the femur.

It transpires that Itoje has been playing with a chipped patella all through the Autumn and Hask has been playing with a chipped bone for the last 12 months in his ankle

As to Simmo's comment of not being wanted, that could simply translate to each side not agreeing the player's worth in terms of contract value. His last contract was probably signed when he was on the top of his game.

I hope Dai and the board have learned their lesson from signing big name stars on 2 yr deals. Its beginning to look like 3yrs should be the standard term to get the best out of a player

Morning everyone,

Reviewing a game having watched it on TV is different to actually being there, where you get to see a lot of things happening away from the ball (or lack of things happening). I was on the sofa.

Daly and WLR both looked completely disinterested, as if they didn't want to get their shorts dirty compared to the new guys of Booj and Neale who are preapred to run flat and straight finding soft shoulders to try and break through. Hughes is trying but simply running into people and bumping possibly one person off isn't very productive, as he then gets enveloped by 2 more players, holding the ball which then gets tied up for 5 or more seconds (that's if he manages to hold onto it). When he played for Wasps prior to the Eng call up he quite often looked for gaps and offloads. Ever since going to Eng he seems to have stopped doing that.

Whatever people's views on the backs and lack of creativity this is the hand that we've been dealt with for the considerable future so lets hope that the group as a whole get things together and work things out

I am not sure if Campo is actually registered with us so may be ineligible.

Looking at the Newcastle situation he would be eligible as he didn't play any euro games for exeter but I think you have to register your 41 man squad for euro comps earlier in the season

I see Daly has his own Ltd company registered at companies house.. address is based in Northwood

I don't know for sure but it would fit his character.. plus he was a senior player.. but I'm not going to name him.. but Hask and tinds won't name him as he's still involved in rugby as a coach

I don't think To lose (see what I did there) will fancy coming to Cov in the predicted conditions. Given the news in the press this week I think there will be a siege mentality from the group.. not wishing to let thhe fans down

People are pointing the finger at Hask but he and Tinds know who Slammin Sam is referring to but won't say..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_zy8-LOges..

I think I know.. and he was the one that came out with the remark straight after the game in the dressing room.. "well there's our match bonuses gone"

Fisher, who is the lackie of Joy, has made a massive mistake.. he's used his own house as a director of CCFC holdings..

I await the recall of Slammin' Sam with bated breath

Have you not read the article?
It wasn't Sam's fault. He added something.
It wasn't the coaches fault either.

It was an ego issue that caused us to be rubbish

Not sure if you're saying that tongue in cheek.. being facetious but if there was an ego, attitude problem within the squad it was most likely caused by the bizarre last minute change of selection policy.. even then.. that's something experienced coaches should be able to quell and turnaround. Lancaster is supposedly a very good coach but his lack of experience being the head honcho probably caught up with in in the 6 months before the WC

If he's a current international wouldn't that mean he's away on duty for  1/4 of the season?

If he doesn't make it in American football then, if he does return to rugby, I think he'll sign up for one of the new pro teams in the US league. I can't see him coming back to the EPL and I can't see Wasps taking him back.

Are the players being over trained and not having time to recover?

The Watson brothers must have frail bodies.. didn't Anthony rupture his achilles doing a NFL photo shoot?

I'm scratching my head on this one because in the one game where he started he looks keen as mustard... a lot better than sick note Watson.

The only thing I can think of is a contractual issue?

But why would you relocate yourself to the other side of the world if you hadn't dotted the t's and crossed the i's.

He did look very quiet and reserved in his welcome to wasps vid so perhaps he hasn't impressed the coaches in training?
