Very sadly that?s me done then. Just too far a journey. I?d already piled up all my Wasps shirts, tops, jackets, scarves, hats etc up for vacuum packing for a season or two but that?ll just be the odd away game for me and Dr Wasp and supporting from afar. Stadium idea looks great and I really hope it works out. Just so sad that I won?t be able to be there, but what memories!

The fact that we are there at all and have survived.

They announced on Twitter that they’ve let Billy Searle go an hour ago.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Feeling quite melancholy
« on: October 17, 2022, 12:54:03 PM »
I spent time last night looking at my wardrobe and realising just how many of my clothes are black and gold and/or Wasp branded. It’s such an integral part of my life and certainly where friends are concerned basically defines me.

My God Daughter lost her mum suddenly at 9 years of age and we started to take her to Wasps with us. Wasps saw her through a difficult time and gave her room to vent her feelings where no one batted an eye lid. We met Jimmy Gopperth, Dan Robson and Willy Le Roux and they were not only enormously kind but they went out of their way to do so. You can’t buy that. Incidentally she is now playing for her local club.

I think of the last minute kick that Jimmy Gopperth scored to take us through to the Euro Semis with 24000 watching. You can’t buy elation like that. Can you go somewhere else and try to recreate it? I think not.

We’ll survive in some form or another and as long as it’s not merging into another entity which won’t have the ethos of Wasps then I’ll be there. Wherever it is.

Once a Wasp always a Wasp.

Merry Xmas to you all. My stocking contained a Wasps scarf, three pairs of Wasps socks and a Wasps key ring so I must've been on the nice list for once.

Gawd bless us everyone!

Mine arrived this afternoon. It looks really good, makes an interesting change from the usual poppy and I much prefer the old Wasp logo. Plus of course it's giving money to a great cause.

Mine has just arrived. My name is conveniently placed to see as it is near the armpit. This may be a metaphor for my life in general ☹️

Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to you and your families. Here's hoping for a better 2021. As Tiny Tim says "Gawd bless us, every one!"

If you subscribe (it's free) to England Rugby on YouTube then you'll get a notification ahead of all the women's league games and they are free to watch. Commentary is pretty good too. There's lots of excellent content in and around the England teams as well, although some of it is compered by Vernon Kay who is an acquired taste.

For those of you who are a certain age and remember Janet Webb at the end of The Morecambe and Wise Show:

"I love you all"

I got 42 but got completely hung up on spelling Connaght and La Rochelle losing me valuable time (and that's my excuse!).

Very strange times indeed. Unprecedented in my lifetime and I expect most of yours. Look after you and yours and we'll see one another on the other side. Hopefully in years to come we'll get together for a beer at a game and laugh about this but in the meantime stay safe. Allez, allez, allez.

Having just listened to Venter I'm not sure what planet he's on or who he's trying to kid. You could drive a bus through his arguments and full marks to Andy G for being so diplomatic with him.

Good morning everyone, a crisp clear day here in sunny Staffordshire. Off to the Ricoh early today as I'm going to be one of those annoying people pestering you with a bucket for your change for the Teenage Cancer Trust. My daughter is receiving fantastic care from them so please give generously and come and say hello. I'm easy to spot, I'm the tall slim extremely good looking one  ;)
