Well done Dan.

Seems sensible for the players to move to France/Italy to clear their heads and start to enjoy their rugby again.

Sad reading to be honest.

I hope a lucrative contract comes Dan's way soon and I also hope his colleagues manage to resurrect their careers very soon.

Yes, I was surprised at that. I read somewhere one of the Barbarians staff saying they have a history of giving a chance to players. That particular chance is one I wouldn’t have given.

If we are talking about an incident earlier this year where an unnamed former England rugby player was arrested on suspicion of rape, and then suspended by his club, Sale Sharks at around about the same time that Yarde stopped playing for Sale, leading many to believe that he was the player in question, then all charges were dropped.

None of us will ever know the circumstances surrounding that night, exactly what happened, or why the case never even made it to court, so he ought to be able to resume his career.

Not sure this is the place to have that discussion.

Tom Willis to Bordeaux

Sad news but I wish Tom all the best. Bordeaux and French rugby will only improve his game.

Best wishes to Lee. Hopefully he will be coaching Wasps again next season.

Lee was very good at identifying talent in the Championship and that’s what we’re going to need for a few seasons. Perhaps DoR rather than head coach might be a good position for him.

It’s unlikely Wasps are going to have the luxury of a DOR, Head Coach and others.

I’d love to see Lee stay on.

Stephen’s greatest achievement was getting CCFC back to the Ricoh in c.March 2021.

I suspect Stephen Vaughan was a high earner before being made redundant so he will be looking for employment asap. Little or no chance that a reformed Wasps club could afford him and he would want to hang around.

Very much doubt Wasps will be playing at the CBS again and because our city is not big enough to accommodate two championship clubs I suspect they will relocate again.

Thanks NW.

Kind gesture by Tigers but I'm going to have a premiership rugby sabbatical for now.

I wish all the Wasps players (and staff) well in finding new clubs but it's going to be really difficult watching them line up for different premiership teams.

As a local supporter of both clubs I don’t see a merger as a realistic option or likelihood.

Despite Wasps loaning Cov the likes of Jack Willis and Tom Howe there have been tensions in their relationship.

Coventry RFC have their own financial pressures - and a small playing budget- but the club has its own rich history that their Directors and supporters will not want to dilute.

Biyi is training with Racing 92 this morning.

Great news for Biyi and fingers crossed that something happens for him.

From the wilderness to Cov to Wasps to Racing 92 (hopefully) is a heck of a journey.

Council don’t want to have to upkeep the stadium. They’ll be deciding whether it’s worth a punt laying out cash up front to potentially avoid exhaustive running costs in the future. They don’t get on with CCFC and CCFC pay nowhere near anything that would cover running costs. The problem is it would be political suicide - especially in the current climate. Fact is, if Wasps go under it will be the taxpayer paying for CCFC to play there whether it’s by this or by funding the ongoing upkeep - so the outrage by the CCFC fans, whilst understandable, is a bit misplaced.

Political suicide?

Both Labour and Conservative councillors (unanimously) voted for sale of Ricoh/CBS to Wasps and will be keen to support organisations that increase the profile of the city and brings money & jobs to the area.

After years of vitriol and pointless legal action, politicians on both sides will also be keen to ensure CCFC’s owners don’t get their hands on the stadium.
