Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Season Ticket Delivery
« on: September 20, 2021, 07:26:05 PM »
Wasps ticket office clearly under pressure and understaffed today.  But confirmation received to my email query that tickets are paper for the Bristol match only with further details of what’s happening for future games to be notified in due course.   Tickets being posted to us all.

Website confirms digital tickets and season member cards to be used in the future sometime.

Clearly some IT issues - not an unusual event for longstanding STHs!

Yes, that would make sense Neils.  It would certainly make it a lot easier to do it that way.

I’ve dropped a note to the Ticket office and will post their reply on here when received tomorrow.

Does anyone know if we are to receive our Season Tickets any time soon?  I may have missed some communication on this but I was expecting to have received them by now.  Are they posting soon or going electronic?

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Dai Doesn't Pull His Punches.
« on: April 28, 2019, 03:10:16 PM »
I expected defeat yesterday against one of the best teams in Europe, but we were totally outclassed.  For me the key issues were:

- Teamwork lacking: the back line look as if they don't know each other.  Daly arguing with everyone, especially Le Roux
- Poor scrum-half play. Love Simmo for his tackling and pace, but he's been getting slower and slower at the base of the ruck. Hands on the ball, look around, wait for defence to get in place and ready, slow pass, lose yards
- Lack of power in the 2nd row. Been the case all year without Launch.  Leads to poor yardage and poor clearing out
- Unbalanced back row: without a natural 7 we did not compete at the breakdown. I don't remember us winning any turnovers.  Gave them quick ball.
- Poor execution/decisions.

Losing Daly, Le Roux, Simmo, Hughes could be an opportunity to reset the squad and refocus on team work.
Coaching issues clearly a big part of the lack of performance. We need the right man to fill the gap.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: New Thread - What Do We Need?
« on: April 28, 2019, 02:51:48 PM »
I think we need:

- A new coach who can bring the team together - real teamwork not there right now - and improve execution
- A decent No3 Scrum Half who can move the ball quickly
- Two new powerful locks to replace Garrett (who should if he's not fit enough) and possibly Myall
- A left winger who has real finishing power. Preferably one who can be a back up full-back
- Promotion of Willis, Umaga, and Oghre from the academy. Assuming they are ready and good enough.  And Cardall too if he's ready.
- Thomas Young to stay with us, or we need another jackling 7.
- Willis and Robson and Searle to fully recover and be fit for the new season

I could go on.  But that would do for starters.

Thanks, JohnnyD.  I missed that news.   I hope he comes back from that ok.  He looked like he was getting close to the first team squad.

Any idea where is Owain James?  I've wondered if he is ready/good enough to step up next season but no sign of him in this squad.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: The Future of this site

I don't think I've ever posted before on this site but I read it now in preference to DW.  Much greater respect of differing views on this forum.
I'd be happy to contribute to it financially.
Thanks for all the work done to make it happen.
