I can see a few problems with this

If we're to have a strong championship it needs a decent income otherwise where's the money coming from for decent squads. The best way to do that is some sort of shared deal across both divisions but I can't imagine the top 10 wanting to share their income with the other 10

How do you handle the club that gets relegated? Unless the salaries are similar between the 2 divisions  the relegated team will have large contractual outgoings and vastly reduced income. Just like in the old system it will be a case of bounce back immediately or face several years relegated. That will make the leagues look more interesting but will it scare off potential investors?

Salaries need to come down in the premiership psrtly to make it sustainable and partly to nartow the gap with the championship but the salary gap is going up! The rich 3 or 4 somehow seem to be able to outvote the less well off 6 or 7. If this continues then any talk of a strong group of 20 clubs is irrelevant because it's all about the top 4.

you need to ask Mark McCall, who has developed however many England internationals, what is the best way of doing it.

How many England internationals has McCall developed?

Earl, George, Itoje, Farrell, Malins... that's really the core. Most of the rest have been poached from other clubs by offering them significantly less money.

Have they changed the rules on marquees?
It 7sed to be 1x home grown player plus 1x hired from outside the premiership (to stop anyone using the marquee place to fund a bidding war between premiership clubs)

Unless that's changed Saracens can't have both Maro and Owen outside the cap. Either way it's laughable to think their squad is legal (yet again) but the journalists with their noses in the Sarries trough are all too busy writing puff articles to do their job and actually ask some hard questions about the cap

the 2 biggest sports in this country aren't on terrestrial tv

You need to build the support base through free to air tv. Once you have grown the demand then you can cash in by going to pay tv

Dan Robson a ten?

Sadly I believe Dan played more minutes for England at 10 and 11 than he was allowed at 9.

I agree there's something not quite right with the rumoured £60m bid. If it was real they could jump in now with a mere £16m, buy the P share for £9m, and have £35m to rebuild a squad. So why aren't they bidding or why isn't the administrator taking their bid seriously.?

If they sell the hotel presumably they lose a couple  of million a year in income so will they then make an operating loss in subsequent years?

The EA's played well. I guess it's easier when - somehow - you can leave two regular SR/8's out of the 23 and still have 4 regular England squad players in your starting pack....Not that I have any suspicions....

. .. any club that can start when they are at full strength, Mako, George, Nick I. Maro, Earl and Billy are not going to struggle much....That's before you look at the backline. International 10, centres and back three.......Still - must be within the cap...

Sounds like Steve Borthwick agrees that Sarries' wage bill concerns remain
