Even as a Wasps fan I have to say it's a strange pick. Simmonds and Smith must be wondering what's going on. That said jump forward three years and I do think Umaga and Atkinson will dominate the 10 shirt.
I think the selection is nearly all as expected.....whether that is the best squad England could have selected is a bigger question. Up front, I'd have Simmonds and Willis in and probably not Billy
But backs-wise, if England are going to carry on kicking virtually everything, I guess, anything will do....it's certainly not a squad that's set up to play ball in hand, like Wasps might.....lacking the creative touch at 12 and 15 and a SH who's point of difference is not (per Young) ability to box kick.
What is imagined for Paolo, Malins and Lawrence, is a bit of a mystery.
