Great addition and good signing but is he a step up from Will Rowlands? Not sure.

Honestly, this board can be hard to please at times.  Given Lee's comments about a lack of options on the market at the moment due to many players extending contracts in the midst of the pandemic, I think a 27-year old, big physical lock on the fringe of the wider England squad is a bloody good acquisition to backfill Rowlands leaving.

I was thinking someone like Vaea Fifita, but would prefer someone less expensive (I sound like I work for the club there). Really aren't too many obvious options out there.

Rowlands for me is the biggest loss of the confirmed departures so far. So to get someone who is a couple of years younger, who likes the rough stuff and has a good injury record as a replacement is good business.

With the talk of another front row SR and squad SR coming in to go with the developing Cardell and Jaina we sound quite well stocked for next year!
