RFU looking at over £1m loss plus any repay to Quilter. I hope they follow through with charging them. The shame is it could put the Barbarians deep in debt through the fault of stupid players.

Sky/Quilter will look to reclaim money from RFU. RFU in turn will look to the Baa-baas to make up that shortfall as they have defaulted on their obligation to play. Presumably the Baa-baas can in turn look to that group of players to compensate as they have been found in breach of their contracts obliging them to follow the Covid protocols. Nige's legal team will be loving it. Sarries are just a licence to print money for them!

Bringing the game into disrepute looming large;

https://www.englandrugby.com/news/article/rfu-disciplinary-barbarian-fc-players

Individual breaches of the protocols (E.g. leaving the hotel without permission or without informing organisers of their whereabouts)
Providing false statements during an investigation

The second charge will be the one that gets them, IMHO.
It was fine when I left it.....

Yep - it was the cover up that did for Nixon and Watergate.

As it's an RFU disciplinary, are we to assume the 13 players in question are all English as those from other nations (eg Maitland) wouldn't be answerable to the RFU?

Not necessarily, Barbarians could be under RFU as could the clubs the players represent, better explained in link below

Also if they play in England like Maitland they are bringing the game into disrepute under the auspices of the RFU.

BBC Sport understands former England captain Chris Robshaw, who was among the players who apologised for the breach, is one of the players charged.

Richard Wigglesworth, Sean Maitland, Jackson Wray, Manu Vunipola, Tim Swinson, Calum Clark, Tom de Glanville, Joel Kpoku, Simon Kerrod, Fergus McFadden, Juan Pablo Socino and Alex Lewington are the other players charged.

Indeed, all in his (many) household bubble.
