Wasps Rugby Discussion / More support for Wasps Women
« on: January 21, 2022, 12:36:39 PM »
Something I have only just noticed is the lack of sponsorship on the Wasps Women's kit. Now I think Wasps are very good at promoting the Women's rugby and netball teams but I think more could be done in terms of sponsorship.

For the rugby kit, surely companies that have their sponsorship shown on the Men's left chest position should also have their logo on the Women's kit? and other logo positions could have a similar set-up, just the chest position is probably one of the most desired positions (other than the main stomach/centre chest position)

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Free-view rugby
« on: January 18, 2022, 09:15:59 AM »
It has only taken 1 game to be shown on Channel 4 for about a dozen people, that I know have a history of not watching rugby, to become interested in Wasps. Now I'm not saying they are going to become die hard fans over night but now they are asking about where to watch games normally, which for me is incredibly encouraging. Hopefully the powers that be take note of the benefits of free view games!

ITV showing up to 5 games a season is a really good start, but I would love BBC/ITV/Channel4 to show a game once a week/every other week. A hybrid of subscription and free-to-air is the only way the sport's fan base is going to grow IMO.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Luke Bowen
« on: March 29, 2021, 03:45:06 PM »
Announced on twitter that Luke is moving on from Wasps after 10 years of service as Head of Performance Analyst and Recruitment Analysis. If you don't know him, he is the guy with the cracking beard (slightly jealous) that often sat next to Dai. Surprised its not on the website, but nevertheless I wish the man very good luck with whatever he ends up!
He's as top bloke that bought me a beer when I celebrated my 21st birthday watching Wasps vs Tigers 5 years ago.

Does make me wonder if Wasps are looking to get some fresh minds in and unfortunately means that some of the old guard need to move on? food for thought.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / The first yellow
« on: August 17, 2020, 09:49:00 AM »
What were people's thoughts on Fekitoa's yellow card? was it a correct decision, too lenient or too harsh?

Personally I thought that his shoulder made contact with the top of Dingwall's chest and if there was camera angle from the other side of the pitch it would have shown this. The bit that made it look bad was Fekitoa's hand on the top of Dingwall's collar bone. My call was that it was just a penalty, due to the hand placement.

Tom Wood has a pulmonary embolism so won't be playing. Wish him all the best with recovery. Glad he's not playing though, always thought he rallied the troops effectively.

W 0-7 B

Cant really complain about their first try, thought they managed the build up very well to create the overlap. Who is the ref, think he is having a very good game. He is very clear and loud in his instructions to the players

Wasps Rugby Discussion / ticket prices

Have I missed an increase ticket prices? £60 for an adult ticket for the Quins game seems a bit much no?

Wasn't expecting much from this game but still frustrating none the less. That said the line-out has bee functioning well as well as the scrum (after the first infringement). I don't think we have been playing badly but there have just been a couple of moments that have ruined all momentum. Feketoa's shoulder and Dan's kick being the main culprits.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Farrell
« on: October 26, 2019, 01:06:31 PM »
When Farrell got pushed in the face and fell to the floor, did anyone else think that he got a bit dramatic by covering his eyes and (what looked like) crying in pain? It's just that the second the whistle was blown to look at what happened, he got up and walked off like nothing happened. Really hope rugby doesn't start going the way of football with players diving to drawn the penalty
