How many weeks is it to the 6N?  That is the length of ban he is going to get.

England's first game is at home to Scotland in 4 weeks. That means he'll probably get 3 so he's still got at least 1 week in camp before the first game.  ;)
That's handy, Mid level offence - 6 weeks with 50% reduction due to being an England International not hurting puppies.

I'm sure I can read the disciplinary report to find out, but I'm not sure how the disciplinary board came to the conclusion that they could knock off a significant amount of weeks from a ban that, in my opinion, is justified. I fear that the ban has something to do with potential England participation or his off-field antics (which I have now started to find very boring) have something to do with him getting a punishment as light as he has.

Unfortunately, rugby is corrupt from top to bottom, so I suspect that it is to allow his participation in the 6 Nations.

That's handy...I can't help but feel there is some sleight of hand going on here.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: EXETER CHIEFS to sell non rugby asset

Sorry, but however un-likeable a club, its owners, coaches, players or supporters may be I can't wish for ANY other club to go under the way Warriors & Wasps have.
No players deserve to lose their jobs & no supporters deserve to be left with the massive gap in their lives losing a club they love will give them.

Not caring if they go bust isn't the same as wishing them to go bust. I am totally ambivalent to their situation survive or fail I don't care; I'm not wasting any emotion either way. I think many are in the same situation.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Former Tenant Problems

Apparently they're very confident of making an arrangement with HMRC.

We all know they tend to work out well... 🤣🤣🤣

I think that we will see them being a lot more lenient.  If you think of how many football teams go bust like we have compared to the number appearing in court...very few are liquidated - Bury, Macclesfield and Rangers are the only ones I remember coming from the major leagues.  I think it is a different issue for non-league teams who I think are treated much as the rugby clubs have been.

The money they continue to get from a high level football club that continues to run makes it worth their while being lenient

...and that's why they won't let CCFC go under.

Good news for Josh, can see him scoring tries for fun with Quinns attack!

Not sure how I will feel when I see the first Wasps player in the "wrong" shirt....... :(

Don't watch then!!!  ;D ;)

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: BB - Administrator Confident

Maybe I come into the sad well informed category whereby I search for various commentary.

Sadly, very few people fall into that "well informed" category in this age of social media and easy click-bait headlines when people just can't be arsed to find out the truth for themselves and just absorb media sound bites that promote a particular agenda.  Shame we can't deny the ill informed majority the vote.

My daughter's Final Year Dissertation is the use of propaganda to control a population.  She is postulating that Chomsky is right in thinking it works entirely on feeding the severely hard of thinking and lazy with easy to digest 'information' to persuade them no further investigation is necessary (he doesn't include the lazy).

I would imagine it's an earnings figure before any deductions.

I know Sixways has been suggested as a no-no, but if both us and Wuss can cobble something together for next season, why not a groundshare?  It has happened relatively successfully in football for a medium term solution, why not here? As long as it was a partnership of equals. Academy areas are not likely to be an issue as I would imagine those areas will be carved up amongst the other PRL teams so there is not likely to be any poaching going on between the two clubs.  It wouldn't be perfect by any means, but could work until we both got ourselves back on our feet.

I am not familiar with the geography of the area, so don't know whether it is possible from a practical point of view, and it wouldn't be morally right if only we came back.

Let’s hope we are back soon, whatever the club looks like and wherever we play.

There is no professional club any more so I don't think there is anything to come back.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Feeling quite melancholy
« on: October 17, 2022, 01:36:52 PM »
We have been fans for a lot less time than most having started watching a few years before the move to Coventry.  There have been some great memories - my daughters as mascots running out with Serge Betsen and Thomas Young, the kindness of a group of fans who invited our family to join them in their box against Sale when my wife had MND and wanted to see Danny Cipriani one last time, then when he made the Sale coach wait for him whilst he came over to chat with her after the game, the last gasp survival against Newcastle....the list goes on.

My eldest wants to watch Quins as our friend follows them, but I have no interest.  I didn't even look up any scores this weekend it is just irrelevant.  I don't care if the whole house of cards comes crashing down, if Saracens end up playing with themselves, if the RFU implode or if everything carries on as normal without Wasps.  I couldn't care less; all I hope is that the RFU have enough money to properly compensate all those players who have developed various neurological injuries in recent years, after that, meh, I'm done.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Implications of P Share Value...or otherwise
« on: October 17, 2022, 11:45:37 AM »
They're not worthless. If(when) Wasps are stripped of their P Share PRL have to pay the contractual value of them to Wasps, £9m. Most clubs have them valued in their accounts for more than this, the increased value most recently established AIUI by the CVC purchase.

The fact that ownership of the share cannot be freely traded and that the rules state they have to be given up to PRL in the event of insolvency does not make them worthless, it just makes them worth less.

I don't think that's the proposal.  I think the idea being proposed is that they are simply forfeit and returned to the PRL.  I haven't seen anywhere that the proposal is to pay for it...but maybe I missed that.
