Why did he leave in the first place, was it because they'd had a baby and wanted to be back home in South Africa or did we not renew his contract?

It was a communication issue mainly caused by the agent.  His contract was up for renewal around the time of Covid, we made him an offer, his agent was holding out for more, then the money all vanished and everyone was looking at taking salary cuts. He suddenly found himself with no contract at all and the club had to find cuts and saving everywhere. I don't think either side wanted him to leave to be fair.
