Would like to think that they would spend some time brushing up on the Laws given the number of penalties ☹️

Well one can dream !

Sitting here thinking what might have been another good trip away (well ok , just building up effort to complete tax return as no rugby).

Just regret missing the Agen game ,deciding not to go because they were messing around with the day to be played due to television. I think rumours of the effect of the virus were circulating but seemed a world away.

Anyway it got me thinking as to which away trip I have enjoyed most , not necessarily the best game or win for us( very rare anyway).

La Rochelle December 2017 does it for me. Not only was it a high scoring match - 49 - 29 loss to us with 11 tries in total but the whole weekend was an event.

Because of its position, rather than fly down to Bordeaux? And hire a car we had decided to take the Tunnel and drive down . Doubts did set in when driving along in Normandy following 2 snowploughs but once we got further south snow cleared and made up the time without further incident .
Won’t bore you with too many details , but the rest of the weekend took in a great night of drinking eating and meeting waspies old and new. The old town of La Rochelle is a great town to visit and their fans are brilliant . Loved the many flags that were out on buildings for their team.

Other bits I can remember - their mascot geeing up the crowd, the stomping on the stands , the way it turned cold and getting soaked on way back to town. The winds that night . TV full of Johnny Holliday ‘state’ funeral procession.
Drive back was bad including  french equivalent of operation stack, tunnel shut, ferry ran
aground that night,  and finally 2 miles from home ,snow closing road with a 7 mile diversion duly ignored.

So a heavy defeat , an eventful journey ,let’s say,( oh I didn’t mention the electronic hotel key that didn’t work at 2:00 in the morning  which involved the least inebriated one, me ,to try and explain problem over phone)

Did it put me off doing another trip ? Of course not  Was it Dublin next year ? Where we were on a bus with the driver desperately trying to overtake the bus we needed for the airport- but that’s another story.

That was a fantastic weekend...nightmare getting home due to Stansted snow closure though!

Indeed, it is the desk.

Spooky this morning though. Out walking the dog and my phone pings.

Text from GOV.UK CORONAVIRUS ALERT

New rules in force now : you must stay at home. More info and exemptions at gov.uk/coronavirus  Stay at home. Protect the NHS. Save lives.

It poses a couple of questions : how do they have my mobile number? Are they using GPS tracking? Big Brother scenario!!

Anyone else experienced this?

Government trying out the system by the looks of it...doesn't look targeted but would they tell us if it was  :)

This really is the only way for justice to be seen to be done. Good riddance.

If I recall, in cycling there was no winner of the TdF in the Armstrong years.  I would be happy with 'No winner' being recorded for those years, I don't think the second place team should be promoted as the final would have been different had the cheats not been there.  Leaving it blank / 'No Winner' would also serve as a reminder of the consequences of cheating.

Exactly this!

I think those poor Sarries have been very harshly treated. After all they've done for the England team... As their supporters rightly point out, Harlequins also cheated quite blatantly in a European match against Leinster which led to the "Bloodgate" scandal and by comparison Saracens punishment was completely out of proportion. I believe that this should be rectified ASAP so Sarries supporters can get over their persecution complex. So, whilst there was the suggestion that Harlequins had used fake blood at up to four other matches, they were only charged over the Leinster HC Quarter Final- one match- and were fined £259,000 with Dean Richards receiving a 3 year ban. Saracens have admitted cheating for three seasons. Assuming HC matches fall outside of the salary cap and ignoring the Premiership Cup, that's 66 Premiership matches so pro rata they should be fined £15.774 million and the charming, utterly blameless Mr Wray- a man closing on on Fararge's achievement of making Nigel the least popular name in the English language- should be banned from having any part in rugby until the year 2217. There, couldn't be fairer could we?

We definitely need a 'like' button  :D

JP Spoil shows his anti wasps bias.
Gives a try, stating he cant see the ball but assuming player grounded it, camera has no views.
Identical situation for Ayo last season, yet states he cant award it as he can't see grounding.
Knob.
Yes, I saw that...outrageous!
He is indeed, as you quite rightly point out, a knob 😁

7 of us heading over...4 on Friday direct to Bordeaux and 3 on Saturday (via Bergerac - could be challenging!).
Notice that Wasps have tweeted about meeting at The Dog and Duck on Friday and HMS Victory Pub on Saturday...see you there  :)
