Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Launch & Alfie
« on: February 21, 2022, 03:51:50 PM »
I'm sure Joe will be in the 23, probably starting. Since Lawes is fit and will presumably captain from 6 the question is which back rower do you have on the bench? Sam Simmonds had a slight knock so perhaps Alfie is under consideration as an impact sub?

Surprised but good for us. Perhaps Eddie thinks it will be better for Joe to have another warmup while I thought Italy might have been ideal to blood Alfie

Munster will be the common travel area (ie UK and Ireland) so may not need anything.
Toulouse will be multiple tests and paperwork especially if not fully vaccinated.

« on: November 06, 2021, 12:29:12 PM »Is there any difference in rules for players who are unvaccinated vs double jabbed? As I understand it only 80% of the squad are fully vaccinated
Not if they test positive.
Slade is certainly unvaccinated as he has expressed antivax views which are ironic given that he is a higher risk individual as he is diabetic

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Bath Kit Man Sent Off - we aren't the only ones!
« on: November 02, 2021, 07:33:27 PM »Incredible. That was one of the most clear cut red cards you’ll see this season. When there’s sufficient impact with the head of an opponent to actually knock him out you accept you or a player on your team has messed up. You show a little remorse and above all check that the “victim” is ok. Anthony Watson’s comments and their kit manager are pathetic, you can’t defend the indefensibleAustin H and Ben Kay were defending it on BT on Sunday

« on: November 02, 2021, 12:15:48 PM »Stephen Jones - No relation to me despite having the same surname :-) Used to attend Wasps games at Adams Park. I dont think he as there to report on the games.
Peter, he lives in the area. I believe one of his sons also plays/did play locally.
Steven Jones lives in Dorney and his son played rugby at Burnham Grammar and (i believe) Maidenhead. Steven Jones came to Wasps on occasions when not reporting as I encountered him with some friends of mine

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Tenant Troubles
« on: October 26, 2021, 08:05:43 AM »I remember going to the 2007 European cup match at the Ricoh before we bought the site.
The police management implemented the full soccer protocol. Our coach was held on the M6 before we were driven to our segregated parking area carefully away from the Saints opposition buses. We then walked across the road to mingle with the Saints fans among the 100+ police officers.
The police had a great time. Lots of overtime and nothing to do.
I was also at the game. We parked in the stadium carpark and were amazed at the number of police present. When chatting to one policeman they couldn't believe opposing fans could mingle, complete with drink, and be civil to each other. It was Coventry's first exposure to topflight professional rugby.

« on: October 12, 2021, 06:08:48 PM »I thought there something about not quit getting 10k in to AP and just checked on Wiki:
Capacity 10,137 (9,448 approx. licensed capacity)
Did they update it for rugby?
It was updated, possibly not just for rugby, and I think we got to it a couple of times
At least the stadium doesn't look as empty as the Mad Stad tended too, despite it being the larger ground

Nic Berry has looked to be the best of the SH refs since he stepped up to test level. The papers point out he played with eliot!

And Randall also conceded a try with the charge down. The England pack were poor conceding too many scrum penalties and the locks were very unimpressive. The backs didn't see that much ball in the 2nd half
