Wasps Rugby Discussion / Points from Fan Forum (18th Jan)
« on: January 19, 2020, 12:36:07 PM »
According to Stephen Vaughan yesterday Wasps are one of the top spenders, close to but not at the cap.

Also Wasps now own the future training ground at Henley-in-Arden and will be moving-in for next season. They don't need planning permission for that. A planning application for building alterations has been submitted, but that will not stop it being used as the training base. The only thing stopping it being used already is the state of the pitches, which are being redone in time for next season.

Other things talked about were the problem getting part time bar/refreshment staff (especially over the Xmas period), the possibility of a ST only area, and the cost of opening the fan village.

It is likely the Worcester match will be a double header, with Wasps Ladies, there will also be a Wasps Legends event that day, but I missed some of that discussion as to what that would involve.

They are hoping to increase the number of double headers next season, but that will depend on the RFU allowing the fixtures to be on the same day - they even want, on at least one day, to have a triple header with Wasps Netball playing in the morning.

They are still in communication with CCFC, with members of that organisation routinely visiting the Ricoh.

The PA system is being looked at - one thing the PA people have said is that Pete Nuttall's voice doesn't match the current setup!!!!!!

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Something to beware of when playing Edinburgh
« on: December 03, 2019, 07:46:02 PM »
At last weekend's match they lifted the post-protection to make it more difficult for Munster to score against base of the padding.

Dangerous, ungentlemanly conduct that altered the pitch - must have been something they could have been punished for.

is Tom Foley. Not unhappy with that -  It's Irish v Leicester who've drawn the short straw this weekend!

There will be major disruption this weekend because of engineering work at Haddenham,  between Princes Risborough and Bicester, on  the Chiltern Line.

Basically rail replacement bus, 1 every hour, between Princes Risborough and Bicester, or 2 per hour Aylesbury Vale to Bicester.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Apologies to the team for yesterday
« on: March 10, 2019, 03:34:40 PM »
I have to hold my hand up and say it was all my fault Wasps lost yesterday.

Two reasons.

The first was probably outside my control. Everytime we frive up from Wycombe to the Ricoh we count the number of Eddie Stobart lorries seen, and if we see less than 6 we always lose. Yesterday we saw 3 (2 on the M40 and one on the A46).

Secondly we were in hospitality, and everytime we have watched the match from "the posh seats", Wasps lose.

Basically they didn't have a chance  :(

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Worrying Post on Planet Rugby
« on: January 21, 2019, 11:32:20 AM »
A don't usually take too much notice of many of the posts on the PR forum, as there are some real idiots that post on there. However my attention was brought to the one linked below (posted by someone called Mr. Very Popular)

IF this is true it is really worrying, and why would Costello be saying this anyway?
