Would be controversial - another young 15 to stand in Umaga's way...

Wasn't the minder former Commonwealth Games wrestler, Paul Stridgeon!

I think he's still a key member of Gatland's conditioning team and was on the last Lions tour.

Spurs have a clear reason for why they are playing at Wembley and an achievable end-game and strategy for when they will stop playing there - when their under construction stadium is complete.

CCFC will rock up at the EFL and explain how they have systematically alienated all potential stadium owners in the area following their history of withholding payment and continued litigation. They have no funding in place to build their own stadium or any other plan to end the "temporary" move away from Coventry. It's possible EFL won't be as sympathetic to CCFCs situation as they are to Tottenham's.

Sportsman likes tweet saying he's good.

I think he's just having a bit of twitter fun.

Interesting stuff (just had a glance really).

One thing that stands out is the difference in the number of players hitting attacking rucks compared to defensive rucks. Do you have the total number of attacking rucks and defensive rucks and an average number of players England committed to attacking and defensive rucks? Is this proportion much different to what you normally see or is that pretty typical?

e.g. George Kruis didn't hit any defensive rucks (his overall numbers look good so I'm not picking on him, it just stands out a bit) but he hit lots of attacking rucks.

We have to qualify for the Heiny Cup first...  :-\

What does the "TR" mean next to a couple of the replacements?

What exactly made anyone think that a cash amount given to each club would be universally spent wisely?

I once shared one of those free buses from Twickenham stadium to the station with Tom Voyce after a Wasps victory. Asked why he wasn't celebrating with the team he explained he had to get a train out to the west country for a previous engagement. He later, of course, signed for Gloucester. Admittedly that was about 6 years later but, still, the parallels are there!

I was sort of hoping for a festive re-working of Ian Drury's Reasons to be Cheerful - Part 3.

Tentative link, stretching things a bit, between Ian Dury and Wasps - Ian went to Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe, same as Wasps legends Tom Rees, Christian Wade and Matt Dawson.

I agree with not cutting coaches, like players, after a mistake. They can't learn from their mistakes if they're sacked and you're in danger of repeatedly hiring newbies who keep making the same mistakes. But Lancaster made such a huuuuuggggggggeeeeee mistake. It was so bad. Knocked out in first round at home. Ugh.

I was kind of hoping the autumn internationals would go so bad that EJ would be sacked. Then Baxter (or A.N. Other) is given the job with the idea that he has a 6 nations and a world cup to learn from before having a really good run at the 2023 world cup. The best way to learn how to manage a team at a world cup is to manage a team at a world cup.

Haven't all the English England coaches been quitting?

Gatland may have been leapfrogged in the All Black running by Schmidt.

Lancaster I think still has to prove himself. Yes he seems to be doing well at Leinster but it's not like he's turned a struggling team around. He's taken one of the most successful and wealthy teams in Europe and... helped keep them successful.
