Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Loan prop

Don’t think he’s injured, wasn’t he travelling prop cover recently?

Would hope it’s west to start with McIntyre eased back in, alternatively Thornton if he’s fit or not required by Nottingham

Missed this, missed that he’d even come back from France. Anyone know why he left France so quickly.

Absolute monster of a man but obviously that size does also impact on the fitness levels.
Could well be worth keeping tabs on him as wonder if Dai could work some magic to sure him up in the scrum. Seem to remember him not having a great day against Matt Mullan in yesteryear.

Brookes is our, JCW is on holiday and would assume Stuart is too, wider academy prop Alex Hunt is also crocked leaving David Langley who has not been given a lot of chances this year so maybe Langley and Alo for the Prem Cup

Said it before on DW but I really hope we don’t sign Naholo.
Yes he would get bums on seats, scare defenders and potentially score a try out of nothing, but our problems start a lot further in field at the moment.
We have a British lion wing and one of the best fbs in the world and they are not getting anything in the wide channels at the moment.
Would prefer the money invested elsewhere and bring in another decent prem player on the wing and bring though a younger player there instead.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Morning All

Morning all. Sunny start here In the Falklands. One of the great things about being 3 or 4 hours behind the UK is that I don’t have to wait as long for televised games after waking up.
Have some work to prepare for tomorrow to do first today, a stroll with the dog and then I’ll be watching via BFBS.
Just hoping we look a little more structured in all we do today, no injuries either and I will be happy.

This is a really interesting discussion. If Jeff T-A, Lima and Jimmy (if he doesn’t already have residency) are fit (pretty sure Fekitoa has a Tongan passport) am I right in thinking Jimmy could only be used to replace Lima and Dai has to hope his other LHs are fit as Zvanhia will not be able to play.
And depending on what happens with Brexit all Kolpak bets could be off??

Hope we’ve thought this through as arguably all the above would be in our first choice 23 next season.

Agree Raggs, Stuart showed that PDJ did not need to be replaced as has been pushing well this season. Probably still not in the 23 when JCW and Brookes are fit but could push one out if Dai picks on form.
Huge loss but not sure what else we could have done to keep him in this situation, as Dai did like him and he had had the game time, it just seems like if he is from that way, supported them as a lad and Bath potentially have offered him a good deal then good luck to him.

Hopefully gives Dai a little reminder though that the likes of west, porter, oghre Umaga will need to be carefully managed as they will not be short of offers and game time somewhere else

Mercer was definitely poached but undoubtedly given his chance early enough at Bath.
Ewells has come on really well as well as other promising youngsters like Ellis, Baylor’s and Douglass being given good game time.

Same with the backs with Atkins and all those backs called Max who have been trusted.

Does sound like a dig but Stuart arguably has had a really good amount of game time compared to West, James and Umaga so not quite sure what he’d have to complain about.
Unfortunately I can never envisage Dai giving a Darren Atkins regular game time at FB

Well, I’ve finally come over too as the DW site just gets too frustrating when it is down or just too negative at times.

I’m Jon, fan since the Pilkington Cup final in 1995 where I went for a school trip, as much as I loved seeing Guscott and the star names at Bath I was rooting for Wasps as the underdog and back then Rob Andrew was likeable.
Moving on it to adulthood living in Kent and having a young family it was tricky to get to games in terms of money and distance but we got to Adams park a few times a year, did the London away A League games on Monday nights and have since tried to get to the Ricoh a few times.
Over the last two years I’ve been working for the MOD out in the Falkland Islands so getting to games is tricky and due to the dodgey internet here I cannot stream games from bet365 when we’re not on tv. BFBS sports channels usually show the bt and sky rugby games so keep up to date as much as I can.
