Wasps Rugby Discussion / Tiggers game
« on: February 15, 2020, 03:47:51 PM »
Mostly the ref has been pretty good.

But when I hear him shout "Four! Your offside!" then do nothing when he still goes for the chargedown. Or when he yells "No No!" and still lets the player scrag Robson, I get a bit frustrated.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Andrea Masi struggling to stay?
« on: February 12, 2020, 08:10:44 PM »
Tweets from Masi saying he's failed one of the tests he needs to pass to get permission to remain in the UK. Some of the questions are daftly hard, and some ridiculously easy, if you get a bad test, you're in trouble.

I have to assume he's doing it with plenty of time, and has opportunities to do it again.

Tmo call could have gone either way, could have been a try, but can't complain at it not being given either.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Rumours thread
« on: January 01, 2020, 02:19:20 PM »
Figured that whilst there's plenty of rumours around, it doesn't always feel worth posting them as a unique topic. So here's a place to put it, and keep other threads clear.

Bristol apparently interested in Cruse.

On first pass, I dislike the idea of losing Cruse, but looking at it with the view of Taylor, Oghre, Johnson and Barbeary, it's perhaps not unreasonable to lose a hooker (it looks almost inevitable), and whilst I do like Cruse a lot, he's probably the one I'd rather lose...

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Budget issues
« on: December 02, 2019, 09:33:48 PM »
So latest Bobby Bridge report says we're spending under the cap, and don't have the budget to bring in an injury joker.

Looks like we're trying to make a push to being more self sustaining. A good thing of course, but it maybe the results suffer a bit in doing so.

30 mins in, watching here and there for some of it, but Umaga is looking very good, and we've been so close to 2 tries. Keep going, keep doig the same, we're doing well.

Just booked tickets for myself my mum and my boy. Fireworks were brilliant last time we were up and I'm 99% sure it was a win against Gloucester.

Maybe see one or two of you.

Quite happy with that, have heard him interviewed on the rugby dungeon before, came across very well. Wouldn't be surprised if there were others interested in his signature.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Next years squad
« on: May 22, 2019, 10:36:32 AM »
Has this been done yet?

Loosehead: ZZ, McIntyre, Harris, West
Hooker: Cruse, Taylor, Johnson, Oghre
Tighthead: JTA, Brookes, Daniels, Owlett, Alo
Lock: Launchbury, Rowlands, Gaskell, Matthews, Garratt, Cardell
Flanker: Shields, Willis, Young, Reider, Morris, Willis
Eight: Carr, Vailanu

Scrumhalf: Robson, Vellacott, Porter
Flyhalf: Sopoaga, Searle
Centre: MLB, Neal, JdJ, Fekitoa, Gopps, Spink
Wing: Watson, Bassett, Sirker
Fullback: Miller, Minozzi, James

Who have I missed that is confirmed senior?

Looking at that, expected promotions of Porter, Willis jr, Umaga, Spink and Simonds fills out the roster quite nicely in my mind. Especially with challenge cup, rather than champions. Barbeary would round out the hookers too thinking about it (also makes it 6 promotions which i think had some meaning to someones clues?).

So they've now been announced and I've filled in the new seniors from the academy. Still a little light at wing I think, and I forgot about Oghre for hooker. Happy with that though.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / OT Android chrome crashes?
« on: May 14, 2019, 09:24:08 AM »
About the last 4 days or so, when I view the site on my phone (lg g6, chrome) the browser freezes/crashes. Anyone else getting a similar issue? Only seems to be this site.

Wasps Rugby Discussion / Exeter game (Spoilers within)
« on: April 14, 2019, 03:52:38 PM »
Not expecting that after the first 2 scores!

Hughes seems to be the only leaving who's not average-poor for me. Simpson maybe as well to be fair to him.

Shields is putting in a good performance again.
