Wasps Rugby Discussion / Re: Nicky Thomas?

Lee did say that the loan prop was a PRO14 player, so I assume that is him. Has played in the Prem. before with Glaws and Bears - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicky_Thomas_(rugby_union)

What is really frustrating about the game today was Wiese's red card, he had been a nightmare to play against until he was sent off. We then had a massive window of opportunity to get on top, instead we looked complacent and lethargic in everything we did. No game plan and then Brookes has a sanity bypass and levels the game back up, in terms of numbers. This was a most depressing game to watch, as Tigers aren't a team we should be worried about. Where Lee goes from here is a mystery as we will still be depleted in terms of international absences and injury.

Watson, Mac and Mills are a concern....always seem injured
Didn't Mills spend a long time injured at Wuss, prior to joining us?

Sean O’Brien and Lima fighting it out for worst return on investment?

Not really paid attention to Irish, is O'Brien that bad?

Think he’s only played a handful of times since signing

Surely Naholo is up there with the highest paid at Irish, he has played once for them since November 2019, admittedly scoring a try. Thank goodness we didn't sign him, when he was rumoured to be joining Wasps.

Couple of players acquiring some useful form. Fekitoa, Taylor, Douglas, Minozzi. They'll all be needed.
I agree, also thought Sam was good today as well, as was Shields and was in the ref's ear more than Dan or YY when they are playing. JTA needs some help with his scrummaging, he is too upright, I appreciate he is tall but as Nick Mullins pointed out he is 'long legged' and 'hinges at the waist', one to work on. With Levi, as well as he played, he reminds me of Nathan Hughes in his naivety around some of the laws, again one to work on. Also...was it just me or did Tempest shout 'Stop 4' at Levi every time we kicked ahead?

That should have been easier than it was, we got the wrong side of Tempest, as a result every indiscretion by use was given. He was very lenient on Warriors, but win is a win, and I hope a much needed confidence boost.

Stooke appears at face value to be a liability, I am guessing interest will wane as drink/driving is not something Vaughan will want to be seen to accommodate.

Firstly, a massive disappointment that Gaby decided to break the rules. I agree with other comments, surely if Vailanu is fit he goes to 8 and we then have options..

Could make it difficult for Eddie to give Jack, Paulo and Tom game time now, particularly next week when it was most likely against Italy, unless he goes against his character and past history.
They won't get a game, EJ doesn't do a rethink, he has had humility removal surgery. He will carry on with his formula...

Agree - timing was key, but, Vellacott has better craft at 9 IMO, and Jimmy looks tired and battle worn.

Two things apparent for me in terms of personnel today, Vellacott was definitely an upgrade from Sam, and MLB brought energy and power at 12. The clannege for Lee is does he make wholesale change for a third game, difficult as it could be viewed as tinkering and experimentation. The fact we had a group of top performers away with England, who basically got splinters in the stands...has made me angry...

Watching Farrell's post match interview, clueless and no acknowledgement on how well Scotland played, and how the Scots dominated the game. Interesting point that Lawrence didn't touch the ball until 60 minutes in, the Manu lite experiment failed. I feel massively aggrieved that we are missing some of our best players, the majority who had to sit there, not participate and be treated to that sh** show from England. A bad day all around.

This team is good enough to win I think, provided they go in with the correct mid set. Last weeks game was lost before they got on the pitch IMO.
+1, we also need to be wise to the fact that Saints use Naiyaravoro as a battering ram, something we have overlooked in the past (losing to 13 men, clock in the red try). Zach has his work cut out for him. I also sense that Lima's lack of tackling ambition would be too much of a liability to accommodate when Naiyaravoro is on the field.

Sopoaga was truly awful today, a complete liability in defence and doesn't appear to have any heart.
